My husband and I just returned from our first trip to Peru, Cusco, May 2012. We stayed in Hostal Corihuasi for 2 nights upon arrival to Cusco and the last night before flying back to Lima. This hotel is a great place for the money ($49 per night or $60 for their two rooms with superior views if you pay... More

We stayed here 3 nights. We had arranged for their free transfer to pick us up from the bus station when we arrived early in the morning; however, we waited an hour, and no one showed up. Luckily a local at the bus station offered to call the hostal for us, and the only excuse they gave was that their... More

in August 2011, a group (13) of us travelled to Cusco to hike the Inca Trail to Macchupichu. As the group was so large one of our number arranged with Ernesto Barrantes the owner of Hostal Corihuasi to accommodate our group of friends and family at their apartment suites called Casa Colonial (Colonial House). It was a delightful experience. Ernesto... More

We stayed at the hostel initially from 28 April to 3 May in room 11 which was just off the main courtyard. Despite being hidden away, it was a very spacious room which overlooked a pedestrian walkway. Woke up a couple of times by noisy people with no respect coming back from nightclubs but the rest of the time, very... More

If you are used to a 5 star hotel, then you probably wouldn't even stay here. Pros: - hot water - convenient location if you can walk up a hill (must be fit). - The morning coffee is very good - only stay here if you can get a good room with a view. The other rooms which are smaller... More

We've stayed in 3 different rooms due to trekking, so were able to notice differences between rooms. All rooms had clean beds, a bit old shower (but with hot water) and electrical heaters. However the space and overall room tidyness was quite different from room to room. Breakfast was Ok. There's wifi (although signal was next to none in all... More

We stayed here for 3 nights before doing the Inca trail and another 2 nights on return, and stayed in 4 different rooms, so developed a good knowledge of the disadvantages of some of the rooms. I am a light sleeper and if you are not, this review will not be relevant for you. Our first room ( can't remember... More

The hostal is well located, a short walk from the main square. Unfortunitly my room (room 15) was'nt great. It was Cold, smelt damp & very spooky. The room was at the bottom of the courtyard, & has no internal windows. Which was unfortunate, as there are superb views from many of the other rooms. The management were very un-helpful &... More

Great hostel with a great location (quiet at the top a the Suecia street, 5min walk uphill from Plaza de Armas). Plenty of charm, great view from our room (nr10), very clean room/bathroom with hot water. There is an electrical heater if you feel cold at night, Staff was friendly and helpful, breakfast was simple but good. There is free... More

The good things about this hotel are free airport pickup, location and value. Free airport pickup: the hotel has an arrangement with a local travel agent - you go to the agent’s booth in the airport Arrivals hall and then get driven to the hotel. (I arranged my tours before the trip so I didn’t use the travel service. When... More
