After almost two weeks in Peru struggling with altitude sickness and exhausting uphill climbs practically everywhere we went, the last thing I needed was to arrive at a hotel that took a rather long flight of steps to get to. Imagine my frustration when our car pulled up at the bottom of a stone staircase and dropped us off. Thankfully,... More

Most hotels have one, a bit like the theatre seat that is behind a pillar and obstructs the stage... The hotel lobby is up 39 steps, and the person below who made the comment about 'no more than you would find in a Mall', was obviously not having a problem with altitude sickness, even after staying there for 7 nights... This little, cozy hotel was perfect for my solo trip. It was just 2 blocks off of the Plazas de Armas and within the San Blas artisan district. There were 2 flights of stairs to the front door and more to your room, which tries one's high altitude breathing and endurance. It was worth it for the view of the... More

1st off, I see some complaints about the steps to the hotel. It’s the equivalent of 2 flights of steps, like in a typical mall. If you’re complaining about that you shouldn’t be in Peru; everything is steps. Everywhere you go you’ll be going up and down hill. The staff does not speak English but they at least try to... More

We stayed one night here and yes, there are a flight of stairs to climb before reaching the entrance of this place. They served coca tea upon arrival. It's a nice, clean place though and the breakfast buffet was okay (juices, coffee, yogurt, cereal, scrambled eggs, sausage, cold cuts, fruit). There was a portable heater in the room as it... More

We spent two nights in this hotel - on our way to and from Machu Picchu. The rooms were clean and both nights we had extra beds in our room although we had booked for a double (or matrimonial as the travel agent called it!). We were able to leave the majority of our luggage at the hotel while we... More

Hotel Suenos del Inka is located up an alley of stairs a few blocks from the main square in Cusco. The neighborhood seemed fairly safe, and the walk up and down the steps to the street gave the place a welcome timeless feel, missing in many hotels in the United States. The rooms were clean and comfortable, nothing fancy. Overall,... More

We booked this hotel because it was the default option with the package we booked. I'm glad we didn't upgrade, because this hotel met our every need. Extremely helpful staff, ready to serve us coca tea or bring us up a bottle of wine. Our room faced an inner courtyard - certainly not an exciting view, but the rooftop deck... More

Nice location once the taxi driver had found it-the road was just 2 sets of steps-definitely not for the unfit. Very pleasant and helpful staff. The first room we had was not so hot - abit small and next to the music academy - fortunately the tuba practice stopped at 7.00. No problem about leaving our suitcases while we had... More

For our three nights in the Inka Capital, we stayed at Sueños del Inka - as booked by our travel agent. The hotel is quaint, clean and really well located within Cuzco. Service was attentive and exceptional. To improve: Sheets seemed old; lights in the hallway all seemed perfectly aligned with the frosted windows above every room door - providing... More
