Came into Ollantaytambo after a day at Machu Picchu on the train. We had a little trouble finding the place in the dark but once we arrived I'm glad we chose Iskay. It's a short walk up the hill from the main area of town and feels like you are staying where the locals live. Rooms were clean, breakfast was... More

I stayed at Iskay just one night, before trip to Machu Picchu, but I really enjoyed this stay. I received a great help from Cristina beforehand, and her partner on my arrival. This is a budget hotel, but it was very clean and comfortable. No problem with hot water, as it happens sometimes at even more expensive hotels in Peru.... More

This was a quaint little hotel in the city of Ollantaytambo. Situated off the cobblestone road there is many things to do in the area and such a short walk to the main square and all the shops. Fresh flowers in the room were nice and the breakfast buffet they offered was nice as well. Very nice and polite staff.... More

My husband and I have traveled the world but are rarely compelled to write a hotel review. I want to take the time for Hostal Iskay because it truly deserves it! First of all, the grounds of the hostal are beautiful, with flowers everywhere. We stayed in room 7 the first night, which has its own private terrace. You just... More

This was the first place I stayed in the Andes having come from the bustle of Lima and stayed here for 2 nights prior to the trip to Machu Picchu. This place was just what I was looking for, charming and rustic and felt right at home there in the mountains The time while I was here I had mountain... More

Our room could not have been nicer set in a lovely garden looking out over the ruins and the valley. A little alcove was a great place to unwind from the plane trip. Breakfast was one of the better at this rate and higher. The people were really nice and helpful. Loved the short walk into the main plaza where... More

You can't beat the price and location for $40 a night. We also had a view of he inca fortress from our windows (peaking behind the trees at the property). It is a 5 minute walk to the main square and also to the Inca fortress ruins. The breakfast was simple and decent, enough to get you started for the... More

Attractive setting but cold. No heating in room but a heater would be provided for $5 extra per night. The restaurant left much to be desired, however there were excellent ones in the town centre, which is only a short walk away. BUT the major drawback was the hot water - or lack of it. The water ran cold 2... More

This is a very basic property, charming in its simplicity. The location is in a quiet corner of town, but has a great view of the ruins and a nice garden. It's an easy walk to the main square and the train station. Breakfast was good and the staff at both the hotel and the restaurant couldn't have been nicer.... More

We spent three nights at Hostal Iskay. We picked it based on trip advisor reviews and it did not let us down. Ollantaytambo is basically a small mountain village and Iskay like a small lodge. It's a 5 minute walk from the main plaza and the Ollantaytambo fortress. It's maybe 15 minutes from the train station. The hotel itself had... More
