This hotel is in the heart of the city! Just a few blocks (walking distance) to the ocean, very close to the mall, golf course and great local restaurants. The large, clean, rooms of this hotel, set in an area near lots of non-tourist and friendly restaurants are the reasons to stay here. The unwelcoming front-desk staff, unreliable wi-fi, dull (even by S American standards) breakfast, and overwhelming 'perfume' in the lobby could easily be fixed by the management.

The Tryp is located in Punta Carreta, a very nice area of town. All is close by: shopping mall, sea, golf course. The Montevideo Golf Club is right on the other side of the street! We've spent 6 nights at this property ! Overall it is a good hotel with a walking distance from shopping punta carretas and havanna cafe(highly recommended) but with a few shortcomings, as follows : 1 - no roomservice after 10:30pm - absurd 2 - no one to carry your luggage right from the car - you have to get in... The location is very good, near shopping punta carretas and some good walking distance Restaurants. Wifi is free.
