Their website advertises a '3 Star hotel' which overstates the truth by at least 1-2 stars. Tired rooms, bathrooms that haven't been touched since the place was built, with cracked tiles and taps that worked with minds of their own, paper thin worn old bedsheets that were only just slightly thicker than the walls. Speaking of which I won't elaborate... More

Dont let the photo's fool you the hotel is over priced and very basic. The rooms are dirty, damp and beds and bedsheets old. The food is terrible and will mess up your trip if you choose to eat. The swimming pool os very small and really just for children. The staff are ok, friendly but a biit aloof at... More

We only stayed one night, one night too long! Insects crawling around the kettle, service at the restaurant extremely slow and seem to have forgotten milk for the coffee, coffee was stone cold by the fifth time we asked for some milk. Had tp pay for phone calls we didn't make as could not get a connection. Very rude front... More

We have stayed at the Capricorn many years ago, and was relucant to stay due to posts here. However, check in was fine, room was clean, bed was good. There was an unusual setup regarding the bedding, bottom sheet, blanket and then top sheet. Threw off the blanket and slept inbetween the sheets. Stayed at the Mercure later in the... More

We stayed 3 nights in the Capricorn Hotel, and whilst the resort isnt great, it definitely has a very Fijian feel to it. Compared to the Five star resorts on Denarau, where you feel like you are a in a tourist hotel, rather then being in Fiji. Everything was cheap at this hotel. Beers were $2 UDeach. Meals were about... More

Stayed here one night on my way to the Yasawa Islands and found the place to be just average, your normal Fijian service: smiles all around, a bit slow to react, but helpful. Air conditioning, pool, balcony, the room was big enough (even though I was on my own they put me in a room which could accommodate three, with... More

As Lonely Planet guide says, this hotel is middle of the road but putting together price, shuttle service, room, occasional entertainment, grounds, breakfast, and staff, it comes out as a very friendly place. It is hard to tell it is just off a busy road. I read in other reviews that Capricorn didn't work for them, I guess I was... More
