Hotel dates back to the communist days, so this is not totally the modern comfort, but it is not disagreable. it it also but a short bus and subway ride from the center of town. Not a five star hotel for sure, but excellent for a traveller on a budget. (Also a grocey store nearby, in case...) More

Not so bad, quite clean and cozy rooms (but never try the cheapest!) also I had no problems with heating and hot water. Their Korean restaurant is amazing! Also nice Italian restaurant nearby. But next time I'll better stay at hotel at the city center: it's about 20 min walk to nearest metro station srom Slavutich. Stayed here for 4... More

They have rooms of different standards. If you pay more, you get closer to european standard, if you pay the cheapest price, you get the old soviet standard. I have stayed many times and I always go for the cheapest room. There is a fridge, tv in the room, but the radiators are not very efficient. Just around the corner,... More

I was afraid to stay here after reading the scathing reviews. In fact, knowing what to expect, it turned out to be not so bad at all. We stayed five nights in late September and took the unrenovated room for $50/night (for two people) which was less than half of anything else we could find in Kiev. We looked at... More

You get an unrenovated room for about $35 which is not bad value for money. About 15 mins walk to the nearest metro station. Fantastic Italian restaurant just by the side of the hotel, but equally wonderful Korean restaurant inside. More

Hotelroom carpet must be the paradise for all small creatures of Kiev. No airco in the room. Bed and coverage are to small. Breakfastmenu is still the same as in Soviet times. More

PRO: Better than a park bench because: There is a toilet and warm & cold water. CONTRA: Look at the pictures..... Air condition only in the lobby. Curtains don't keep the light out, sun shines right through. Huge fridge (totally rusted out) and TV not connected. Mattress was originally bought by the zar. Bathroom right out of "One flew over... The hotel is a typical Soviet-era building on the outside. Inside the lobby, and many of the rooms have been renovated and holds an ok standard. The barmen havnet'g got an idea about the concept "hospitality", but that you will see all over Ukraine. The staff at the reception speks English and they are service minded and very nice. The... Nicely situated, on the left bank of the Dnieper, but some kms out from the centre. A 20+story Soviet tower, slowly being upgraded. Rooms are, by western standards, basic but adequate. The breakfast room is TINY; just 25 places, for a 200+ room hotel. But the buffet is - again - adequate. Reception areas are typically Soviet-pompous, with marble halls,... More
