We had arrived at the Black Cat Inn way late at about 12:20 am. It was the end of a very tiring and frustrating travel day and we were BEAT. The older gentleman met us at the door and showed us to the dorm room and told us we could choose our bed. We had a quick look and decided... More

This place is very casual, quiet, and homey. The staff was very helpful in planning our excursions, the beds are comfortable and there is a great rooftop patio that is good for hanging out. There is free breakfast, and my friend and I missed it because of having to leave really early so they kindly packed us sandwiches to take... More

The employees are all so nice and helpful, no matter what you're looking for they will help you fid it. Its close to the central square but also far enough away that it doesn't get too loud. The food is good, great deal for the price.

I found it really average, while traveling alone they charged me 200 for the night for a room which was really dark and not that clean. The bed comfort was very average, and there was no air entrance to the bathroom which means all the room gets humid after a shower. The only very positive point is the breakfast which... More

The place is a bit rustic, geared toward the backpacker. But the staff is friendly, the The view from the terrace is incredible, the Wi-Fi signal is good, and the breakfast is delicious. The only negative is the quality of the shower. In all a good value for your money.

I stayed at this hostal multiple times when I was travelling Guatemala. I always came back to it as my base, because it was comfortable, clean and the best thing was the staff- they were sooo nice!! Strong points included comfortable, clean beds, spacy rooms with storage space, free lockers to put your valuables in, gorgeous grounds (garden with fountain,... More

My wife and I stayed at Black Cat Inn for 2 nights. It was the first place we came across that had availability, looked decent, and was cheap. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast was pretty good for only 2 USD more a night. We stayed in the "dorm" which meant cheaper rates but shared living space. The... More

Dominick runs the place with his beautiful, belly dancing girlfriend/wife. the rooms were shared with 3-5 other beds, but not always full. It only cost $5-10 USD and offers a great fresh breakfast from a full menu. They will even package it up for you to take, in case you have early day plans like taking a tour of the... More

I went to Guatemala to install solar panels and help contruct a bajaréké wall. Our first few and last few nights were in Antigua and I was extremely happy to stay here. Location: so close to the center plaza as well as the markets. Perfect location; very well lit and there is a 24 hour security. There is a staircase... More

The staff here are very nice and helpful. Guadalope (sp?) at the front desk was super nice and helped us book tours and a shuttle. We really felt at home here. We loved the breakfasts, especially the burrito. I highly recommend the Black Cat Inn.
