Antigua was just a stopover coming from and going to the airport and San Pedro La Laguna, so I wanted something clean, reasonably priced, safe, and with a garden if possible. Casa Jacaranda hit all the right notes. It is a small homey hostel with a nice garden for breakfast or for enjoying the hammocks. Its is a lovely little... More

Great place with a wonderful staff. Breakfast is HUGE and would cost about half the room price if purchased anywhere locally. An excellent choice for Antigua. I stayed almost 3 weeks and cant complain about anything. If there is anything you need, just ask. Very accommodating. More

For my free breakfast I had Spinach and Mozzarella omelet, rosemary potatoes and frijoles. A little pot of fruit, a coffee, a fruit juice and toast. That is an excellent breakfast for a cheap hostel, and just one of the 3 options. Our double room was surprisingly nice, good beds' and pillows, bathroom just outside and good ventilation. The garden... More

The man behind the desk was the highlight - particularly for those wanting to practice their Spanish - very chatty and very friendly. The breakfast was excellent and varied, rooms nicely decorated and clean and eventually I found the shower with hot water. Earplugs are a must - the walls are paper thin! More

large room with modern equipment. The owner was kind and helpful. They locked the luggage for us, and helped us a lot! The lobby was pretty big comparing to other hostels, and decorate with good stuffs. There is 2 public computers, chess, and books for you to do something when you stay in hostel in the early morning or late... More

Good place to stay. Don't do any business with Rafael. We payed him Q 550 for the bus to Flores. He would make the reservation and the tickets. We were dumped at the ADN bus terminal in Guatemala City. But there was no reservation and no tickets. ( only Q 300 and that was not enough to buy the tickets).... More

Great place to stay and also relatively cheap. There is a free breakfast to start the morning which made the day that much more enjoyable. The rooms are always secure and if you whish to put away the more precious items in a secure location there is also a safe. The staff are really friendly and the free internet available... More

The friendly staff of Casa Jacaranda made me feel at home. The owner, Rafael, speaks English fluently, and went out of his way a number of times for me. I also booked trips through their travel agency. All but one situation went perfectly, and on that one instance, Rafael more than remedied the situation. I have traveled all over the... More

Good deal in Antigua, no doubt about it, especially since breakfast is included (more on this below) but don't expect any luxury. Rooms were very average, not the cleanest we've come across, and there was almost no lighting, but decent sized. Service level depends very much on who's at the reception - we got a very good reception when we... More
