This is a really terrible place to stay. The location is just about the only positive being close to the amphitheatre but other than that it has nothing going for it. The decor is dated, the bed clothes had holes in them, the ceiling was stained, the windows were rotting and rattled in the wind, the staff were rude and... More

I went there for a one night stay; a bit frightened by several reports and comments people made about this hostel. I found it very acceptable, without any extra comfort, but the price was pretty cheap as well. Downtown Pula is very close (10 min walking distance), and the Roman arena are just 2 blocks away. I must admit that... More

I read the reviews and was a bit worried, but the price was right. Clearly the Hotel has had better days (it's 106 years old as I write this & it is now earmarked for restoration) but I kind of liked the faded grandeur. I can see that many of the complaints are valid, but you get what you pay... More

I love run down glory with style. So the former 'Grand Hotel' Riviera, now relabeled 'Guesthouse' Riviera, became an instant favorite in my series impoverished nobility. The receptionist at the hotel desk was the living example; gracious, witty, helpful, but far from servile. Though the hotel is thoroughly ruined by Soviet taste and a communist view on maintenance, its former... More

We arrived in Pula to see its amazing sights and were not disappointed. We had not booked a hotel and after finding one which was too expensive, we came to the Riviera. Seeing the entrance and the extremely impressive exterior of the hotel, we almost turned away before entering. Since, however, it was rated as a 3 star hotel, we... More

We stayed at the hotel following a stay in an apartment in Rovinj before getting our flight home from Pula. I usually read trip advisor reivews unfortunately fell for the marketing by a certain booking company and did not research. Our aim was to have a relaxing couple of nights in a nice charismatic hotel before returning home. Aims not... More

My boyfriend and I needed to find a central hotel in Pula as we were arriving in the evening and had to depart the following morning at 5:00am to catch a bus to Venice. This hotel is in a central location (walking distance to the bus depot) with a lovely view of the ocean and walking distance to several pubs... More

Once upon a time this was likely a premier hotel. Unfortunately, it is now fairly run down. The high ceiling and grand staircase hint at a wonderful history. But now the rooms are very basic with cracked plaster and stiff beds. Mosquitoes arrived at night. The killer was the heavy construction next door that started at 6am. We stayed during... More

Dear guest, We would like to thank you for taking the time to write a review of our Hotel Riviera. We are terribly sorry that you couldn’t properly rest because of the noise of the street constructions that were present during the month of your stay. As you have noticed, Hotel Riviera is a historic building of the Austro-Hungarian period... More

The decaying Hapsburg splendour of this large hotel, and the great location by the port, are the strong points of this historic guest house. The terrace is also a nice spot for breakfast or an evening drink. However the amenities here are also stuck in the past. There is no air conditioning in any of the rooms, and with temperatures...
