My colleague and I had the need to find a hotel in Zadar for a Saturday afternoon, night & sunday morning. All the hotels in or near the Old Town were booked, so we decided upon Hotel Venera. When we looked at some previous reviews (made in 2011) we were a little concerned. However, on checking in we found that... More

It's clean and serves it's purpose - but no frills. Location is great, makes life very easy if you're flying into Zadar on the evening flights, as the bus drops you a 5-10 min walk away. Can be a little noisy in the evenings as it is close to some good bars.

This disgusting establishment with its sleazy near-criminal staff almost soured our time in Zadar, which is actually a lovely town. The location of this “hotel” is decent, but not reason enough to stay. There was rarely anyone at the front desk, and when we needed to find them we had to have some of the neighbors help us look for... More

For those who do not bother staying in a poor but cheap hotel for a weekend in order to visit beautiful Zadar, this is a reasonable choice. Yes, the rooms are poor, but have an acceptable bathroom, the sheets are clean, the staff rather friendly - AND the location is more than perfect. This is actually the main reason, why... More

This place is horrible. Yes it is located inside the old city, but the staff is very rude, the rooms are dirty /small and the rates are WAY TOO HIGH. The people here are not available unless you call them, and then it will still take them 30 - 40 minutes to arrive. Upon arriving to this hotel to check... More

When we arrived at Venera, the hotel staff had no record of our booking. As it was a Sunday, their admin person was away so they were unable to access their computer to view our booking. We were then told the hotel was full that night so we would be unable to stay there anyway. Instead, they moved us to... More

Our experience was very similar to previous comments. Check in staff initially were good, to be replaced by staff that did not wish to lift a finger to help us. Rooms are very small. Friday night bars and pubs were very loud until about 4am. Location is good for seeing Zadar, unfortunately it is such a poor hotel.

On the 'plus' side, we were pleased to book a room on one night's notice (in mid-April), happy to save some money (at a rate of 50 euros for the night), and satisfied with the cleanliness of the room, even though the bed was hard and the room, quite small and unnecessarily crowded with several large wardrobes. In terms of... More

location is really great . our room was clean, but tight. the most important: this is not really a hotel, it is a renovated house in the old town, with cca 5 rooms (with bathroom) on each floor. "reception" is in a house next-door and there is no dining room. but there are hotel prices. it is not expensive, but... More

After the reception lady couldn't find the key and asked us to return later (we had reserved far in advance) we were able to enter our room which was clean, small and generally ok. As it's the only hotel in the old city, you can't beat its location...
