I had recently stayed in Royal Guesthouse for my trip in Mandalay on May 2012. We stayed in triple room for 35USD with added one mattress. The room is clean and comfortable. Worth to stay. The staff will help to book your bus ticket if you want to go to other states. The taxi fee is around 2000 kyats for... More

There is nothing to complain about. We stayed in economy room with a fan and shared bathroom. It was a tiny room, but fine for us as we went there just for a night. Staff was friendly, helpfull spoke very good english and breakfast sufficient.

I can never be bothered to write reviews but in this case I feel really compelled to do so. I stayed here, just for a couple of nights to have a base to visit amarapurra and saigang. the room was fine for what i paid, a bit more expensive than other towns though. showers were suffice, but i would splurge... Room was clean and looked fresh paint wise, unlike most other room have stayed in Burma. Awesome to have a fridge in the room & even had a balcony. There is a roof top seating area which is great as the sun sets. The only real let down of my stay was no hot water. Reception staff could work on... More

I don't remember too much about the cleanliness of this hotel. I only remember that the price was average and that I took the corner room upstairs, which was huge and had a balcony. I also remember, more than anything else, was the excellent service. You see, I became sick on my last day in Burma. I couldn't get out... More

We must have caught the staff on an off week in comparison with other reviews on whose basis which we picked the Royal. Very odd, frosty reception on arrival with the lady at the door standing like a bouncer blocking the threshold, even when I advised we had a reservation. This continued when we booked a tour through them and... More

Probably the best 'city' hotel we stayed in during our trip to Myanmar. Be sure to book well in advance and confirm (by phone) a couple of days before you arrive. We stayed on the 2nd floor - clean room and reasonable bathroom. The staff are very knowledgeable about travel options and helpful in making arrangements.

We were here over Christmas 2011. We had room 201 which is at the front of the building. It's a good sized room with a small balcony overlooking the street. Traffic noise wasn't aproblem at night because the city tends to quieten fairly early but we did have one night of amplified music from a few streets away - that... More

reliable option for backpackers in yangon. very clean but very small good value rooms, v good hot showers, breakfast room too small for number of guests, and breakfast portions small, but that's a minor niggle. this is a great value well run place who will help with ticketing and information
