After reading the reviews I was a bit unsure but I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the trip It is a steep climb to the top and the pathways are uneven but the tents were well laid out we did get hot water very quickly but then there were only 6 people staying The activities were ok it was interesting... We like others stayed here as part of the Luang Say Cruise. Most people continue to go straight to Luang Prabang after the one night at Luange Say Lodge but we were glad we decided to stop here as it was an unusual experience. There were only 6 people in total when we stayed which added to the experience, I... More

Stayed here as part of our three day trip down river to Luang Prabang. River very high following some months of heavy rain. The seven of us the only guests. Greeted on arrival with a glass of lemon grass tea. Nicely laid out camp, tropical plants, canvas tents on tiled base, beds frames made of bamboo, mattresses ok, but not... More

We spent two nights at Kamu with our two children ages 7 and 10. We had a fantastic time. The lodge is sparse on arranged activities, you have a lot of time on your own. The food is a bit bland, we're guessing they're catering to a variety of tastes and true Lao food may be considered too much for... More

This was chosen for us by our travel agent and sounded like a little adventure. Arrived late in the afternoon just in time for the activities so we hurried to our tents to get ready. Lots of people to help us with our bags. Tents are lovely, canvas under a bamboo roof. Ehtic looking bamboo beds with mattresses and handmade... More

Trip down the river was very relaxing albeit a bit cold. On arrival was a warm greeting, and overall a really relaxing place to stay. Wished we had booked an extra night. Food was good and beers ere cold! Village visit was worthwhile and interesting. Gold panning and Archery were a bit boring and could have been done a bit... More

Like most other reviewers, we stayed here just one night, traveling up the Mekong, visiting the Pak Ou caves en route. There were ten of us on the private boat from Luang Prabang, and we were accompanied by a very pleasant Laotian guide from Kamu Lodge. We arrived before lunch and were met at the waterside by staff who carried... More

We loved our night at Kamu Lodge. Initially we were worried about it being isolated but it was truly a great experience and very comfortable. The tents are much nicer than you'd think and we had a wonderful welcome. Going to the nearby village was a highlight as was my husband having a turn at sowing the rice fields with... More

We stayed at this property on 19th October 2010 as an additional extension of our cruise enroute to Luang Prabang. There were only eight guests at the time all of whom had also arrived and traveled with us on the boat but who we had not known prior to the trip. Our tent accommodation was perfectly comfortable & quite charming... More

We stayed here as the 2nd night of a 3 day cruise down the Mekong with the Luangsay Cruise from Houisay to Luang Prabang and totally loved it. The whole trip was quite expensive but we thought well worth it. The accomodation is in the type of safari tents that you find in Africa with comfortable beds and mozzie nets... More
