The Hacienda (a/k/a Hostel Museo Cayara) is a unique place to stay. We escaped from potosi, because 3 of us 5 suffered from the altitude and the bad air (exhaust gases). Then wie discovered this paradise. We where even invited for Christmas by Arturo and his family! We stayed here on a whim on our way through Potosi. The Lonely Planet Guidebook listed the Hacienda almost as an afterthought but we thought it was worth the visit...and wow was it worth it. The Hacienda Cayara was the highlight of our trip. Located 30 minutes outside of Potosi you enter a magical world of history, geographical beauty, friendly people and feel-at-home service.
