I really wanted to like this place. It had a pool for my son and a great price point. But I was so disappointed with the room. The staff was friendly and helpful but it didn’t make up for the outdated condition of the room. The temperature control was non-existent and it made it nearly unbearable. A maintenance man came by to “adjust” the air conditioning but it did little to help. The lovely desk clerk provided us a box fan that helped slightly but we didn’t get restful sleep due to the heat. The bathroom could use some cleaning and updating. The fan was caked with dirt and the toilet paper holder was falling off the wall. I short, it was a safe place for us to rest our heads for a night it I don’t think I would return.

Upon entering, this hotel smelled like chlorine. The pool is open in an atrium area and the hotel has a strange layout, all the hallway-facing walls are windows and everything looks outdated and dingy. But worst of all, after spending a night there both my partner and I had bug bites. We checked the mattress thoroughly after returning the next night and sure enough, found 4 or 5 bed bugs along the back seam by the headboard (I always briefly check the mattress upon arriving and it seemed ok at first). They gave us a refund but this did little to remedy the disgust and anxiety we felt. They didn't seem surprised at all when we told them, and were not very apologetic.

This was our second year here for a fundraiser conference, Pawtographs Parafest, and we thought and were told it had improved service since our first experience which was horrifying. Rooms were booked in advance for stay but they had over booked several guests rooms. We were told the hotel bar and restaurant would be running to service us and there was only one bartender and one cook. For a filled hotel. It took 1 hour plus to get ours orders taken and 2 more to get our food. The bar was under stocked and ran out of product. Complimentary coffee in our rooms only had decaf, and when we asked for regular they said we world be charged extra. Rooms were disgusting as well again, and the rooms were over heated and AC did not work properly. Toilet was left unflushed with feces still in it from previous guest. We understood the first experience a it was during a horrible blizzard. Promised the second time everything would be fixed.... laughable. If you're planning any kind of gathering here, don't. It's an overpriced, understaffed, crap hole. A glorified roach motel with horrible management that refused to help and treated us all like low class garbage. Avoid at all costs.

I have stayed here for 19 days. The receptionist is now talking about me to coworkers when I can definitely hear. I have autism but of course never mentioned that. She obviously has made herself my judge because I guess my behavior seems odd to her. The big Michigan game was on tonight and of course when I got back from work my remote wouldn't work. The man at the front desk supposedly couldn't find any batteries. How odd when there are hundreds of rooms but you have not one battery? If anyone with a disorder is going to stay here think again. I think if I pay over $90 for a room I should have a remote. And sorry if I don't act how they think I should and am staying here by myself so they do this.

There was a cockroach in my room and there are weird stains in the bathroom. That alone wouldn't be an issue but the front desk is routinely empty and I can't even call the front desk because the phone isn't connected in my suite. Save your peace of mind and go literally anywhere else.

Be aware the price of the room does not Include the 100 dollar security deposit . 6 days after my stay the security deposit still has not been returned. Room was left in great shape front desk is trained to give you the run around instead of solving the issue.

We were in town for a Michigan football game so the $500 rate wasn't out of line for a game weekend but our experience was below expectations for a mid tier hotel. The front desk was very pleasant and both check in and out went as expected. The room wasn't very clean and sorely in need of a major renovation not just esthetic updating. The mattress and pillows were comfortable; everything in the room worked as expected. The bathroom was TINY. We wanted a hotel with a bar; this one had a bar but it didn't open till 5:30 and there was almost no activity even later in the evening-certainly not the game day party atmosphere we were hoping for. The free breakfast buffet is the usual and was fine for what it is. Most of the time the place was pretty much totally quiet with no one around and no activity.

Clearly old motel that they tried to quickly facelift to increase occupancy. It does not take long to notice that they cut corners on refresh—dirty carpet, discolored bathtubs (and pool bottom) and fruit flies in room. Worst place ever stayed in Ann Arbor by mile.

It was around 5am when I was awoken by some extremely strange and scary noises. I laid in bed for about 20 minutes trying to figure out what was going on . The noises which became louder and more clear were coming from the room next to us. It was extremely loud shouting, grunting, things being thrown, yelling. I could hear someone saying I want my Momma. This was continuously getting louder and more aggressive which eventually awoke my daughter and her friend. My daughter began to panic and shake so I picked up the phone and called the front desk attendant. She came down the hallway ( at this point I was watching out the window to see what was going on) she had a look of extreme concern on her face and she did not knock on there door and she walked away. After about 5 minutes I told the girls I was going to the front desk and to lock the door behind me. I walked down to the front desk to see if she had called the police and she assured me she had. She told me she was not comfortable knocking on the door. I told her that It was concerned for the other people that were in the room with him. I had seen 2 small children and a women in there earlier in the night. I then returned to my room and waited for the police to come. The police came after what felt like 10 minutes of hell. My daughter was crying and shaking telling me she was scared of what was going to happen. I tried to assure her that the police were coming. When the police came they banged on the door extremely loudly and for a long time with no response. They knocked again even louder and I heard them tell the man they wanted to check on the occupants of the room. The man eventually responded and said he was getting dressed. After the police made contact with the occupants of the room it did seem to be under control. And did eventually get quite again. This whole ordeal went on for around an hour and a half total. This experience was completely shocking and scary for not only my kids but for myself. I have stayed in this hotel several other times and have not had this experience before but after this experience I am not sure I could come back there ever again. This really ruined what started out to be a pleasant evening for my daughters birthday.
