We stayed for four nights at MarubaA driver was waiting for us at the airport and Melanie, the owner, greeted us with two rum punches (the unofficial drink of Belize) upon our arrival. After a tour of the grounds, she took us to our suite. With the Groupon, we were assured a junior suite but Maruba decided to celebrate our... More

We came home from Maruba relaxed and rejuvenated which was exactly what we needed. I have been able to travel quite a bit over the last few years and have to say that Maruba was such a unique and wonderful experience. I read many of the reviews on this site and so was prepared for the experience that we had.... More

First off we didn't know until it was too late so please bring school supplies, they help the local schools and you will get in good with the care-takers ;-) My wife and I are the adventurous sorts, so when we go places we are not looking for the traditional over-comfortable bed and bland decor. We want to be out... More

We booked Maruba for six nights in March, 2013. They told us, in advance of coming, that we would be able to go snorkeling, diving, caving, etc. any time we wanted because they had private drivers to take us there. We arrived on Tuesday and wanted to snorkel the next day. They said they couldn't take us until Friday because... More

If you go to Maruba expecting a Ritz in the jungle you will be disappointed. If you go to enjoy the 4 R's, especially the rum punch, you won't come away disappointed. My wife and I spend four very enjoyable nights at the resort. Everyone we met was very friendly and always trying hard to make our stay memorable. The... More

Wonderful resort - enjoyed the atmosphere, grounds, staff. Everyone is very friendly and accommodating. Try the fruit crepe at breakfast and jungle tea - delicious! For excursions, we took the tour to Lamanai and we saw so much wildlife on the trip - monkeys, crocodiles, birds, turtles. While Altun Ha is a closer Mayan site, Lamanai is larger and the... More

I enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere and the massages. The grounds were emaculate and beautiful. I look forward to a return trip in the near future. The food was prepared very well. The rooms were awesome and very relaxing. I would have liked to have WiFi in the rooms.

When we first arrived, and probably for the first 24 hours or so we were in mild amusement / disbelief at the uniqueness of this place. Our room was like a cave with silver walls and a - let's say "intriguing" - painting over the bed. The lighting was just bare bulbs which did not lend any atmosphere whatsoever (except... More

It was a restful, peaceful and beautiful place. I would go back, definitely. The only thing I didn't like was the lack of wifi in the rooms. Only one are to get wifi. There really was no service for the phones. However, if you are wanting a beautiful place with minimal distractions then this is the place to go. Massages... More

We visited Maruba Resort with our 3 kids. Melanie was quite flexible with our travel dates and moved us into a 2 bedroom suite. The resort, just like our room was designed with many personal touches that made us feel like we were in paradise. All the trips we took were memorable, esp the snorkeling and cave tubing. The staff... More
