Mandarin Oriental property's are some of our favourite's, but having been to the Ritz Carlton sanya previously and experienced really terrible service (even by china standards) and a resort devoid of much atmosphere, our expectations weren't too high for this trip. Pleasantly though our Mandarin Oriental experience was absolutely fantastic. The resort is beautiful - really secluded and tropical, stunning... More

We wanted to get a away from Shanghai for 3 days with the requirement of a clear blue sky, beach, good food, good service and a place for the children to be entertained while we relax. The Mandarin Oriental Sanya delivered on all fronts. I had my doubts after reading reviews and yes there were some small hiccups although they... More

The MO Sanya is one of my favorite resort to escape from HK. The rooms are big and tidy and the bed is good. Even if you are far from the lobby, the little buggy will come and pick you up! The service is very good even if the staff is not fluent english. The Fresh restaurant is fantastic and... More

First of all: you are in China and the staff will not talk to you in a fluent English!! C'mon!! Compared to other hotels I've ever stayed in in China, the staff was quite good. The hotel is amazing. There are 3 or 4 HUGE swimming pools and believe me: although you are in China, the pool is almost all... More

After living in China for 4 years, my standards for service has been "harmonized". As many have said, the hotel and grounds were great. We used all the pools, fitness center and spa. Exactly what you would expect from the brand. Some reviewers have commented that the beach isn't great. I actually found it a nice change of pace. If... More

This hotel gets high marks for the grounds, staff, pool, etc. The grounds were so well laid out, you felt alone at the hotel the entire time. The pool areas had so many little nooks that you didn't need to be near anyone, and made for a very romantic/sexy vacation away from the hustle and bustle that can be China.... More

Its a cliche but the hardware was great but the software was not. Last time we stayed at the Ritz and were blown away by the quality of service. We were expecting a similar level at the Mandarin but were disappointed. I won’t list out all the problems, and to be fair, the rooms director gave us a free meal.... More

We stayed at the two bedroom sky villa with pool. Tranquility, best service, best facilities and best seafood at amazing location!! Two things stand out - tranquility and the bedroom plus big size bathtub all facing the sea. Definitely the place to be and definitely highly recommended. However the beach is not very good but this is not zanzibar or... More

I highly recommend this hotel. Reasons: 1) Location: it is located in a secluded area, out of the hustling and bustling of all the other luxury hotels (someone can see this as a cons but with small kids for me this is a great pro!). There is a long stretch of beach where basically speaking only the hotel's guests go,... More

This resort is exactly what you expect from Mandarin Oriental, luxury has a price and those willing to spend will want to experience this resort. MO Sanya will not let you down. We booked a plunge pool pavilion but moved to a pool pavilion once we arrived. There are approximately 8 rooms sharing a private massive swimming pool. We never... More
