I have never given an evaluation so low although I learned some lessons from this hotel. During our stay (early December 2011) we encountered some extremely loud neighbors. About 5-6 people moved into the room next to ours one night and they started to yell at each other. I contacted the front desk several times and the noise went on....

I really enjoyed my experience there, very good infrastructure and all-around breakfast. Good option for senior executives not travelling with constrained budget (around 1000RMB/night).
Pros: breakfast, cleanliness, infrastructure.
Cons: some real estate projects nearby are somehow annoying.

Hotel is about a 45 min drive away from the airport, but maybe better calculate 60 min, as the traffic is quite bad in Shenyang.
Rooms are well sized, with separate shower and bathtub. However there are not too many places you can leave anything. E.g. in the bathroom there is nearly no available space to put your toothbrush. Same...

The Kempinski hotel is one of the western style 5 star hotels in Shenyang.
They offer nice decorated rooms, friendls and helpfull staff. Also the breakfast is very delicious with a wide selection of chinese and western food. As in all Chinese Kempinski Hotels, there is a German style Paulaner restaurant in the basement.

After travellig in Asia for three weeks, this was my last stop. While the hotel appears on the outside to be a "5 Star" I had the two most miserable nights of my trip. # 1 - if you are North American you'll hate the beds - they are army surplus and hard as a rock (the sheets are great...

Booked the Kempinski with high hopes based on reviews. Recommend any other 5-star hotel in Shenyang other than this one. Rude and pretentious staff exuded an air of arrogance throughout my stay. Highly unimpressed with hotel management and training. Rooms were small and dank. Air-conditioning hardly worked and is based on central air distribution. Hallways were dark and uninviting. Bathrooms...

After battling it out with crowds in train stations, erratic taxi drivers, demanding customers and emotional colleagues, what you really want when you check in a hotel during a trip through China is peace, quiet, and comfort. At least for one night. The Kempinski offers just that. The rooms are impeccable, I had one on the 22nd floor with a...

The hotel belongs to the Kempinski Group. Inside, like at most of the Kempinski Hotels there is the "Paulaner"-Bar and Restaurant.
The hotel is quite nice. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are quite big and comfortable. At least for the Executive floor. The service is also very good and friendly. The reception is very helpful, polite and...

It's the real KEMINSKI feeling once you enter this nice hotel. Great interior, charming and caring staff, excellent service due to outstanding management. The German BEER HOUSE of Paulaner's certainly adds to the atraction of this place in the middle of industrial northern China.
