I stayed at the hotel twice for just one night each time. For the first time, we had a great room, very large and exceeded my expectations. The second time, the room was smaller but still adequate for a comfortable stay at western standards. The breakfast was disappointing from an international standpoint but my girlfriend had a different view and... More

After reading reviews of the Sheraton Urumqi we were not disappointed, but this is because we expected the staff to speak little English, the atrium to be poorly lit and the food to be overly priced and of poor quality. That said, Sheratons are hit and miss regarding quality. Compared to most USA Sheratons it is very nice. Compared to... More

Having been built only a few years ago my visit to the Sheraton in Urumqi was full of expectations but dampened immediately upon arrival, the lobby was large, spacious and had what appeared to be a circular bar and coffee shop however this and the check in desks were veiled in semi darkness. My room was adjacent to the club lounge which appeared... I had quite good expectations as I had read many positive reviews but I was sadly disappointed. It was not bad it was just ok but at the price they charged it should have been great. I was on a 6 week business trip and it was the most expensive hotel I stayed at - all 5 stars including Beijing... More

I stayed here 2 years ago and quite liked it, but it appears that it is in desperate need of renovations. I stayed one night on two seperate occasions, but in both rooms the shower drainage did not work properly in either room and I ended up flooding the bathroom. There was peeling paint on the floors near the window,... More

What I remembered most about this hotel: drunk people throwing up in the lobby and "girl" knocking on my door at two in the morning. But overall we had a comfortable stay. The room was huge, clean, well-maintained; bed was softer than standard Chinese bed; Free wireless internet in room; the staff, although don't speak much English, were very friendly... More

This is a nice hotel and I have stayed here several times. Be very careful about the tour desk in the hotel - it has outrageous markups compared even to any hotel operation I have ever encountered. DO NOT USE the tour desk - I am surprised they are even allowed to operate from the hotel More

Good standard hotel, comfortable, well-appointed rooms. Restaurant food excellent, in particular the lamb kebab and carmelised sweet potatoes are not to be missed. Pool facilities of a high 'club' standard - though the need for a swimming cap at 110RMB is a rip-off. Support from the pool staff bordering on intrusive - I do know how to use a locker. More

The hotel is a good 4 stars hotel, good sized and clean rooms. The only negative points are the location from the International Bazaar which is very far and the breakfast is not really a continental standard (the hotel is excused as the majority of the tourists are chinese!). Might stay here again only for a transit. More

I recently stayed one night at this hotel. Pick-up from hotel worked perfectly fine. The hotel lobby looks very Chinese with interesting decoration and loads of dining facilities. The nice surprise came when I checked into the room; extremely functional with a beautiful bathroom. Big and comfortable bed made for a great rest. Internet connection was not free but offered...
