I just got back from a stay at the Bovedas and Sofitel. Stay in the Bovedas. You get to use the Sofitel's pool, spa, restaurants, bar... and then walk across the street to a gorgeous boutique overlooking one of the most gorgeous parts of the wall and sea.

Nice boutique hotel with 18 rooms only. Service is not as "stuffy" as the Sofitel Santa Clara and duplex rooms are great for a family with little kids (Upstairs: bed + full bathroom upstairs. Gorgeous hotel, the rooms beautiful and clean, its close to nice restaurants and the plaza de San Diego, the hotel doesn't have a pool but you can use the hotel Santa Clara's pool and spa. We love this hotel.
