I was travelling by myself on my first trip to the Galápagos, and Patricia, the owner of Casa Iguana Mar y Sol, provided a great deal of help and guidance from my very first email exchange with her. The rooms at Casa Iguana are spacious and very clean with beds (and bed linens) that are extremely comfortable. Breakfast was delicious... More

We just came back from a vacation in Galapagos. We were first on a cruise for 5 days (see my review of Queen of Galapagos) then stayed in San Cristobal for another 5 days. I had looked at the reviews from previous guests and decided to stay in this B&B which corresponded to our criteria. Well we were not wrong... More

Great small inn with a very personal touch. Luis is very friendly and accomodating. He rewards your attempts to try and speak Spanish and was a pleasure to deal with. The rooms are clean and well appointed. The Hotel is close to the interprative center and only a 2 minute walk to the "downtown" waterfront restaurants and shops. Beautiful views... More

We stayed Casa Iguana Mar y Sol for 3 nights 04-07 March. We arrived at a tiny but chaotic airport of San Cristobal. We supposed to go to our B&B by taxi. People everywhere, where is the taxi stand? Taxis don't look like taxi, people just get on to the back of small truck and leave....We asked a gentleman with... More

This hotel was a great choice for me during my island hopping holiday on the Galapagos. From the first contact with Patricia, the owner, via email, I felt so comfortable in dealing with her and looked forward to staying at her hotel. I paid using PayPal which was a super convenience. Upon arrival, I certainly was NOT disappointed. They make... More

When I booked with Patricia, the owner, she told me that this was the best room in the Galapagos Islands. She was right. I booked the third floor suite which was essentialy a small apartment (bedroom, living room, dining room, kitchen, and bath). The suite was clean, comfortable, and we slept like babies. Luis is the builder of the property... More

I stayed 5 days at this luxerious B&B and i got a discount. Organic Galapogos coffee with French toast, pancakes or eggs was great to wake up to. Patricia and Luis built this palace several years ago and its thier pride and joy. They are not into this just for the money, they really like people and want thier guests... More

Thank you for the kind words. You particularly were a kind and inspirational guest. I am happy to be a small part of the hospitality community. Everyone has a different travel budget. Since we are a small operator, we cater to those who need super clean rooms, mattress covers, pillow covers, high quality sheets, a full sized bar of soap... More

I chose to stay here based on positive previous reviews and was a little disappointed. The B+B itself is beautiful with each room themed on an animal from Galapagos. We grabbed a taxi from the airport and found the location of the B+B handy for the beach and interpretation centre. We stayed for just 1 night in the Lobo (sealion)... More

This was the nicest couple, but with the wife feeling under the weather and needing to REST. It is true that the carpentry shop was allowed to open by the city reletively recently...and within 100 yards of 5 places for travelers to stay, if you can imagine ! I did call the police...with the prayered hope that they would get... More

I recently stayed for several nights at Iguana Mar Y Sol. While the building is nice enough, I was unhappy with several aspects of the stay. First and foremost, Luis Mendoza, who lives on the first floor, has basically taken over the common space for himself, and was both uninterested in having us use the space, and unhelpful in assisting... As the homeowner of this B&B, we are disappointed this guest was not satisfied with his stay. However: ALL windows are fully closeable in all guest rooms and owner's quarters. Due to heating-at-showerhead water delivery, hot water is always available by use of this heating source (in other words, hot water is not delivered from a tank but is heated... More

I recently had the pleasure of staying with 3 friends at Casa Iguana Mar y Sol on San Cristobal in Galapagos Islands. Luis Mendoza was our primary host for the 7 nights stay and we learned that he built the house which has very intricate wood workings and decor. Luis also prepared very tasty breakfasts for us every morning complete... More
