Having had a lovely holiday there last September (see review 5 Oct.11) I was desperate for another dose of heat and sunshine in happy suroundings. The temperature 19.April/May was between 29 o - 35 o c, even when overcast one day the usual brise/wind was lovely and warm. I fully endorse the recent reviews of other clients, the comments are... First of all, we stayed at the beach side hotel (Please note that there is a mountain side hotel and it's not good at all, empty and don't have a sea view but with a heated swimming pool). The room was nice not luxurious but ok. very good air conditioner and the bath was marvelous with the hot water and... More

I have stayed here twice and my overall impression was...Ok, nothing here took my breath away, the service is fine, rooms are clean yet the whole place needs some modernization, I think it was has not been refurbished since the 90's or something. Located close to Naama Bay, like 15 min walking, shuttle bus services exists but I have never... More

Returned from the Marriott on sunday, a good day to fly the airport was not so busy. On arriving at the hotel the first thing you notice is how shabby it looks, compared to 4 years ago, on our last visit. The same applies to the reception area and most of the public areas, some of the outside areas were dirty.Our... The hotel is in desperate need for refurbishment. The staff are totally unfriendly, even in the restaurants, it takes forever for someone to ask if you want a menu or even take the order. Bad bad experience. And the last straw was the quality of food, too bad for the price paid, in all restaurants. More

This is simply not a four star resort. It may have been four star at some point, but is seriously in need of some care and repair. Cracked walls, dirty tile grout, chipped doors, worn bedding, etc. just doesn't cut it. The complimentary terry cloth bathrobes were so worn we refused to use them. The worst thing, however is the... The Mariott beach resort is actually 2 hotels. One on the beach side of the 4-lane road the other on the mountain side. Both are referred to as the 'Beach resort' which could be a trap if you are not expecting it like we weren't. The mountain side hotel is quieter with no external foot traffic. There being no point.... More

Excellent resort. Very good & cooperative staff. All restaurants are nice & the breakfast is very good. Japanese restaurant is very expensive (220 us $ for 4 persons without drink). Location is perfect. Wherever you go, in the hotel and the surroundings, you can go for a nice walk, easily find your taste for dinne with dance show and nargila... More

Stayed for 3 days of our 12 day personal trip to Egypt and this goes down as our worse time in Egypt and the worse of our 10 year marriage! - Checkin was 3 and by 4:30 there was still no room ready for us! - At check-in, I provided my Marriott Gold card and while he took it to... More

My wife and I recently stayed here following a week by the Nile at Luxor. Having done a fair bit of temple and tomb visiting from Luxor we looked forward to some snorkelling in Sharm. We have visited Egypt several times before including Sharm, so reckon ourselves 'old hands' at this. Our hotel in Luxor (Steigenberger) was excellent in every... More
