Lived here as a boy in school when it was just a private house my father rented. Had a well and cow shed in the back yard. Now the place has been renovated and restored to its former glory and upgraded with running water, fans, A/C and polished teak wood floors. Rooms are comfortable and the friendly owners Sunny and... Chiramel is positioned in a perfect spot, away from the noise of the restaurant streets, but next door to Dal Roti for delicious food, Fabindia and Anokhi for beautiful fabrics (these are the top two clothing stores in India, if you like colourful, high-quality, handcrafted items), and just round the corner from Oceanos, the best restaurant we visited in Kochi.... Very interesting, 300 year old building. Lovely hardwood floors. Rooms vary in size. Excellent location - everything was within walking distance. Basic breakfast. Clean. Helpful with respect to making phone calls.

We had a nice stay in the Residency. The building is truely beautiful and the owners nice and helpful. It is settled in wakling distance to the centre. The rooms are clean, but you have to order the daily cleaning and the breakfast for th next day. Nice place to stay

Despite working in the service industry, the staff here refused to help my friend with a simple request that they could have easily accommodated at no cost to the hotel. My good friend needed internet access for only a few minutes in order to let folks back in the States know that he was alive and well. Even though we... More

Home stay was clean with large rooms and friendly staff. Room was spacious with a fan no ac . Bathroom was excellent - clean and modern. Breakfast was prompt and right outside our room- eggs, toast, coffee - all cooked well. Location was good for us since it was not in the middle of town but very close - only... More

Stayed as a couple for 3 nights in January in a 'heritage room' which was capacious but internal and extremely hot without AC though good shower room. We felt the customer service was rather grudging; they refused to make us tea and would only serve breakfast at an exact hour and to their specification. Not particularly helpful staff though the... Last week, December 27th 2012, I called at this establishment, and asked to reserve two "heritage" rooms for January 4th. I spoke to the lady who seems to run the place. I explained that we were leaving Cochin that day but wanted one night's accommodation on Jan 4th before flying out. She offered the two rooms at 2000 rupees each,... More
