I and my husband planned and almost cancelled the trip to Fort Kochi to get a glimpse of the Biennale. After some last minute hum drum we managed a room at Vasco Homestay and reached Fort Kochi on 2nd Mar. We got the room towards the back and its a big room with 2 separate beds. The beds can accommodate... More

The street sound would not let you sleep at night. Leaving this nightmare, everything is great, old property - gives you a feel of old portuguese heritage palatial house. It is said this was Vasco-De-Gama's house. All the attractions of Fort Cochi are on walking distance.

Vasco is in a perfect position. Near to Beach, the Chinese nets, the Post Office, St. Francis Church, the bookshop. It is near to everything but on the edge of the Princess Street area. George is friendly. The rooms are Portuguese heritage and I actually preferred the smaller one at the back. Both are very good value. There is a... More

Thankyou to George and his wife for a wonderful stay. It's been 15 years since I stayed here last & 2 years since we last met. This is a beautiful, light, airy, clean homestay. The bathrooms are clean and more than adequate, with hot water showers, bliss. Tea and coffee was presented to us on arrival, which was very welcome... More

Santosh, Sheeba and family offer a warm welcome and were helpful with advice and tour bookings, situated centrally for all the sights and places of interest, although on a noisy corner were every form of transport beeps as it crosses the junction. Large airy room (no aircon) attached bathroom (only cold water in wash basin) and lots of old furniture and... More

This is a great place to stay particularly if you are on a budget. Mr Santosh and his family are helpful and very friendly. The room was huge with a bathroom, seating area, 2 large beds, mosquito nets, fans, hot water and TV. What's more it was Vasco Da Gama's actual house when he arrived from Portugal so it is... More

We stayed here for only one night, and by accident (it's a long story of public transportation fiascos and sudden changes of plan). The building is very interesting historically; there are claims of Vasco da Gama living and dying here, which, even if unsubstantiated, bring a certain mystique and romance to the place. The room was interesting but a bit... More

A great location (right next to St. Francis Church). Nice big airy room. Basic but functional with old world furniture and paintings. A great way to relax in Kochi The owners are helpful. The breakfast could include more items though!

I stayed at the Homestay in March 2012 for three days/Nights and at the beginning everything was fine, Mr. George seemed to be a very kind and helpful man.. It's true, that the rooms are very large and that it is a historical place - but if you travel alone it's really too expensive because you don't need 3 beds... More

An old building, large rooms, comfortable beds, clean and well maintained, the St.Francis Church visible from the windows, a very friendly Mr.George and most things a short walk away made this a great place to stay at Fort Kochi. Nope, all wasn't perfect - they forgot to add the toiletry (and we forgot to ask since we were carrying some... More
