The view of the Taj is excellent but the hotel is Okay. It's a nice place if you want to be close to the taj. Other than that there is nothing much to write home about. Since we were all friends together we had fun at this place. Nice hotel.

We arrived in Agra's train station at 6 in the morning without anything booked and one very sick group member. After visiting the first hotels recommended in our guide book and being told they were full, we found this place.
The man working barely spoke any English, and sometimes this can be overcome by being friendly and helpful in whatever...

This hotel gets no rating. UP tourism never informed that this place has no parking facility. Transport to the hotel is minimal. Buggy rides to and fro hotel stops in the evening; also no buggy rides on purnima nights or when a VIP is on the way. Not advisable for aged people. Need to walk 3 kms to reach this...

1) I stayed in the A/C swiss cottage in room 1 and which is nicely located inside the premises
2) Cottages are hugely spacious
3) Cottage material is very old and dusty but shouldn't be a problem for Indians only.
4) Rooms are clean
5)This hotel has a properly maintained huge two foot ball ground size elevated grassed lawn with...

Although the hotel is undergoing a major renovation and facelift (September 2011), it is a reasonable hotel. The location is simply awesome, barely 300 meteres from the Eastern gate of the Taj, a location, no one can match. Even the Oberoi Amarvilas is down the road.
I stayed in the swiss cottage C-5 (it is basically a furnished tent). These...

The Swiss cottages look awesome but the amenities are not the same. A typical government stuff I would say but only advantage is the location & its close proximity to the TAJ. If you plan to take a tour right at the early morning, you are sure to get a big surprise since the annoying crowd is yet to reach...

The only positive thing about Taj Khema is that its extremely close to the Taj Mahal. But despite that i dont recommend it to anybody. In winters it gets extremely cold at night inside because of its structure, the windows are covered by plastic sheets which are unable to keep away the cold air.The quilts they provide are extremely thin and...

Well, during our Agra stay in Dec 2011, we did not actually stay at this hotel (thank god). While coming back from Taj we decided to opt for this hotel for Lunch and trust me, the restra did beat all records for bad food!! These guys are sitting on a gold mine, (you can see Taj from the hotel), and...

Prior to our Nov 2011 stay, we had read the reviews but were reassured by our travel agent that there were recent renovations & that our experience would be better. WRONG! While we were in one of the 'renovated' rooms, we still had black ants, the vanity sink was about to fall down and the toilet would not flush. It...

Positive: close to the Taj. Decent accommodation...like a low end, budget hotel in America.
Negative: restaurant had poor food and service. price for the place and the food was not commensurate with the quality of service.
Suggestion: stay at a hotel farther away from the Taj and therefore cheaper. Use Amin Travels to book a day trip which includes a...
