Room ground floor good, Mattress hard but told reception and fixed with thick over lay. Breakfast Buffet what you pay is good. Pool areas are good although you have to beg for an extra towel at the pool. The pool with the bar, Lack of lounge chairs around the pool, other two pools ok. Close to the beach, Shops, The staff are helpful where they can be. Remember how much you pay it is excellent for the money, compaired with what you pay for 5 star or the equivalent at home or where you come from will be a lot more with less service. Would I stay again YES I have been to Bali over 40 times staying at several hotels.

Great location, near Kuta beach and backpacker area (Poppies lane), this place is very authentic and ages. The hotel room is average, has a bath up, hot water but a bit salty. The breakfast is mediocre in my opinion, as always eggs become main course and has own stall in the corner.

I stayed at this hotel through a taxi driver taking me there (after I rejected his first three suggestions). I was impressed by how nice the staff was and how helpful they were when my bank went down over the weekend. The restaurant was nice and laid-back with a decent selection of local and Western meal choices. The guards standing outside were also very friendly with me and helped me correct my Bahasa Indonesia. My only complaint about Wina was the loud, obnoxious guests from Australia and France who hogged the pool chairs 24/7 and shouted to each other from the patio of their rooms. If you stay here (or pretty much anywhere in Kuta) try to avoid the holidays when they invade the town. The Wina Cottage is not a party hotel, but they tried their best to make it one. Even the staff was at a loss to manage them.…

My partner and I and another couple took the advice of the travel agent to stay at "Wina". I should have known better, I have been to Bali 11 times!! Firstly when we arrived a bond was demanded. When I asked what for we were told that other Australians had stayed there and left a huge bill unpaid.. What an insult!! We hardly fit into the high risk category, we're grandparents in our early 50's!! After finally relenting and paying the "bond" we were shown to our rooms. Ours was still dirty from the previous tennants!! When finally it was clean the towells were so badly stained and there was a strong sewage smell in the bathroom. We were awoken EVERY morning with construction work being done in the grounds. Breakfast was a debarkle with inadequate seating for everybody, in the end we chose to eat else where. The service was poor the quality of the rooms, restaurant and pool area was poor and Wina is situated at the end of a dark alley... We also was told by another couple they awoke to find a rat on their bed in the middle of the night.. NEVER AGAIN!! stick to what you know...…
