Check in was a breeze, excellent location, close to all Kuta has to offer. Poppies lane 1 and 2 close by and walking distance to legian clubs and restaurants. Pool lovely and pool bar, plenty of room for everyone!! staff are the best, very very friendly. We had a room at front on second floor as we wanted private balcony... More

The Grand Istana Rama has a nice Balinese feel, although the room decor is slightly old and uninspired. My partner unknowingly lost his wallet while we were staying at this hotel (probably while at lunch in the hotel restaurant) and it was returned to him with all the cash still inside, along with an itemized list of its contents. He... More

I entered the room to be knocked over by this smell that made me vomit I could not touch anything because it was filthy and smelled terrible. I was unable to do anything because of the time of arrival I had to try and rest with gagging all night because of the filth. I was out of there by 6am... More

We have stayed at quite a few places in Bali and by Bali standards this is a very good hotel. Sure there are some odd things here and there that are broken but if you have been to Bali a few times you just laugh it off. Our rooms airconditioning was very cold. The room, although dated, was always very... More

Myself and my partner stayed her from January 31st to 10th Feb. We arrived and everything seemed OK. The reception greeted us nicely. Although asked for a $100 deposit. Which is fair enough, just though I'd let people know just in case they don't bring enough money with them. Our room was decent had a fruit platter awaiting us and... More

We went to Bali for our honeymoon and stayed in Kuta at the Istana Rama for 7 nights. Kuta is not honeymoon friendly. Put that aside the hotel is badly rundown. The pool needs re - tiling, and everything we touched broke. The doors would get jammed easily etc. The bathrooms flood easily, and the hotel adds a service charge... More

Location was fantastic. Right opposite beach, 10 minute walk into the heart of Kuta and 10 minute walk to Legian. Staff were friendly, room was clean and comfortable and breakfast was lovely. Great value for money. Swim up bar was great. Only downside were the cocktails, which weren't quite up to the standard at other venues. More

We stayed here in July 11 with a big group. The staff there are friendly enough, however the hotel is a disgrace. The first things I saw when I walked in the room were the grey (supposed to be white) towels. The bathroom was mouldy and nothing felt clean. The sheets were so thin and worn you could see the... This hotel is located across the road from Kuta Beach. The road in front of the hotel is extremely busy so take care when crossing. All the staff are friendly & courteous & the rooms are clean. This is an older Balinese hotel & the pool area could do with a makeover, but considering the location it is value for... More
