Simple but clean rooms ($30, including breakfast, in low season). Terrific view of rice paddy fields and mountains beyond. Basic breakfast with good coffee, served on the porch of our bungalow. Short walk into town or along the rice paddies to Sari Organik. Friendly staff.

I have been to Bali many, many times, and when I have gone to Ubud I use to like to stay at Gusti's. But in the past 6 or 7 years, Mr. Gusti has become more of a kermudgeon and the bungalows more musty, moldy, moist and dusty. I have not seen one new items over the past 10 years....

This nice place is set on a quiet street. It is very peaceful and wonderfully overgrown with vegetation. People are friendly. Has a small pool, basic bathroom facilities, breakfast is simple, but nice.

Gusti's 2 is...

Stayed for a night in june 2011. Had been recommended by a friend. Lovely gardens and water features. Service quite basic; food average; room very basic. A lot better can be found in Ubud for the price

Friends in Ubud recommended we try Gusti's Garden 1 on Jalan Kajeng, which is my favourite street in Ubud, so we did but we were disappointed. On the good side the location of Gusti's is right on one of the rice-field walks that we love; and the site, on the side of a valley is attractive, with lots of steps....

Ubud itself is beautifull, so are the places to stay. We did don't make reservations, so we went all the way down to Jin. Kajeng (a street full of hotels and bungalows). No. 27 it's Gusti's!. We were lucky to get a really nice bungalow for 2 days. I believe the higher you climb the stairs the better the rooms...

We initially planned to stay only 3 nights in Ubud, finally there were 7... We stayed the whole time in Gustis Garden Bungalow. The staff is very nice and the place just charming, away from noisy roads
