Unmatched for variety and quality of activities (sail, kayak, dragon boat, climb, zipline, skywalk, archery. climbing wall and climbing trees, and our famous boat and boomnet expeditions), LooLa is a family favorite as well as the number one destination for overseas school trips. LooLa is Bintan's most exciting destination for those who want to experience the real Indonesia, appreciate a mix of total tranquility and healthy action, and like sitting on a balcony above the sea and under the moonlight!

A life-changing experience for students!!! I recently led a Grade 8 trip of 120 students to Loola. I’ve been part of many school trips in my career, having seen first-hand the profound benefits a quality overseas expeditions brings to students in terms of confidence, self-esteem, social skills and enhanced understanding of their place in the wider world. We have brought our students for many years to LooLa, and this experience has long been a highlight in their school year and fro some, a lifelong memory. LooLa is most definitely a very different environment from what our students are used to –just as it should be for a place that is supposed to widen students horizons. It is an idyllic beach location tucked away from the world, a rustic part of nature, where students have to get used to washing their own plates and bunking together in charming but basic accommodation. LooLa has always excelled in offering a great deal of exhilarating onsite activities, but to our delight, LooLa came out of COVID by adding even more activities. There are still the student favorites: Boat and Boomnet, coconut tree climbing, Zipline into the pool, Rock wall, the Skywalk, dragon kayak and the always popular futsal field, basketball court, and volleyball court. But LooLa added highly entertaining traditional Indonesian games (which evidently make the local staff very proud), a meaningful and enjoyable new climate module (mangrove seedling hunt followed by mangrove planting), a cultural cooking module and an interactive traditional dance experience. But the area where LooLa truly excels is in its service learning opportunities. Having long run some of the most meaningful service programs in this region, they further expanded the scope of their cultural interactions just outside of LooLa with interactive visits to native fishermen communities and to authentic villages. In these villages, our students have a chance to truly meet communities and make a huge impact, both on the lives of the hosts and for themselves. This year, our cohort was introduced to a group of 20 village families for whom we were able to build lifesaving WASH (Water, Sanitation, Hygiene) facilities. When we first met the families, we could see the current WASH situation, which typical for Indonesian village families, and in fact, village families across tropical Asia: inadequate sanitation, the absence of running water, and challenges with getting access to clean drinking water. But after just one day of (hard!) work (in collaboration with local people and LooLa’s staff), the families all had safe sanitation, running water and access to clean drinking water, through complete and maintenance-free systems. In our technologically advanced lives, it is rare to witness innovations that are completely understandable from beginning to end, but these WASH systems are examples of such systems: their functionality was completely clear to our students and to their hosts, having discussed the system’s virtues together. The students had also worked together on additional home upgrades such as painting the houses (in colours chosen by the home owners), and they had cooked together, celebrating each family’s best local snacks, visibly doing the families very proud in doing so. Aside from adding much appreciated hardware, I understand the student's visit brought dignity, pride and genuine friendship to all parties. After our 5 days visit, we returned to Singapore again, pretty tired but with a new perspective on life, knowing we share a planet together and that our actions can make a positive impact. We look forward to returning for our annual visit next year!

Manage your expectations and you will have a good time. This is a great spot to getaway from the city life in Singapore and also a good place for you to try all the activities that can be found in adventure camps back home. Since everything is included, your trainer can arrange almost anything you want. If you want to have free and easy time, sure! Our trainer, Harry, was very friendly and kind and funny, and we all had a great time over the 5 days. Rest assured you will not be bored here. Some of the activities we enjoyed the most were the lowtide walk, kayaking, boomnet jumping, campfire, flying fox and tree climbing/jumping. There is also a football, volleyball and basketball court that you can play in your free time. As for the accommodation, we tried both the chalets and the villas. The chalets are barebones, with no aircon. The water pressure for the showers in there are not the best, but that was not an issue because we chose to shower near the office (cold water but if you shower during the day it would not be a problem, water pressure is strong there) Villas come with a huge shower and even have aircon in the room, similar to normal hotels. Food was excellent, with 3 meals a day and with a healthy spread of all varieties of food. (usually 2 protein) The food gives very home cooked vibes and is sufficient for the activity packed days you will have. Overall, treat is as a good getaway, and manage your expectations, adn you will have fun and a rested holiday

Thank you for this response, and thank you for singling out our staff by name. Means a lot to them and to us! We're very happy to hear that you liked the food and the activities. As to the pressure in the showers, this has been solved! Just before your visit, we had re-engineered some of the water systems and made some errors in the process. But now that problem has been solved, and not only that, we've been installing hot water in the chalets too, so on a next visit, you could enjoy hot showers in the chalets!

Our recent holiday getaway to Loola Resort during the lunar new year has been nothing short of magical: an unforgettable fusion of relaxation, adventure, and breathtaking natural beauty. The first thing I want to highlight is the abundant choices of exhilarating activities at the resort. 2-3 activities had been lined up everyday, and in between we could have some ball games at the sports courts. From kayaking adventure into the mangroves to indulging in the thrill of sea jumping, each activity offered a unique way to connect with nature and create lasting memories. The wall climbing, flying fox, and skywalk adventures added an exciting twist to our vacation, leaving us with an adrenaline rush and a sense of accomplishment. Also, a good opportunity for our kids and teenagers to build their confidence with a high standard of safety. The staff were super friendly, attentive, and supportive. Their dedication to ensuring our comfort and satisfaction truly enhanced our overall experience. Special mention and shoutout to Tess who patiently assisted us in booking and organizing our trip, and Conty who took charge of our stay over there. It's really impressive how accommodating and responsive he tried to meet our request. While we were enjoying our meals in our villa living hall, the kitchen staff and waiter were always waiting outside quietly, standing by but not obtrusive. There are many more, unfortunately, we cannot remember all their names, a big thank for all their helpful support! Again a big thank you to Tess for arranging us with the two spacious and exquisitely designed villas. The villas provided ample space for our group of family friends not only privacy but also togetherness. No holiday experience would be complete without indulging in delicious food, not to mention it's during CNY. The food at Loola Resort certainly did not disappoint us. Even not fancy, just some local and simple home cooked food, the menu is different for every meal during our 4 days stay. and it's so tasty that left us craving for more. Another advantage I should also mention is flexibility, not only activity arrangements but also meal times, Overall, our time at Loola Resort surpassed all expectations, leaving us with cherished memories that we will treasure for years to come. Whether you're seeking adventure, relaxation, or simply a break from the ordinary, this resort offers the perfect blend of comfort, excitement, and natural beauty. A great experience for all our family and friends and we cannot wait to return for another unforgettable experience. Highly recommended!

Wow! It makes us all happy to know that we managed to make you guys so happy, and thank you especially for singling out our wonderful staff for praise. This means a lot for them and it means a lot for us: we've come a long way together since we first opened in the year 2000 –the same month our first son, Igor, was born. COVID was particularly tough, but it's awesome to see we pulled through and retained our capacity to make an unforgettable experience for our guests!

It was a very rewarding experience, in the lap of nature, away from the world of gadgets and gossip. It was a pleasing sight entering our room when we saw that all the corners had an ethnic touch. The wooden furniture was strong and stylish. Even though we basically wanted to relax, we still did activities like doing tie-dye in tee shirt. My daughter enjoyed archery and the short kayaking experience during the time of high tide was enchanting. The food was awesome and what impressed us the most was the variety. Every meal was different and the taste still lingers in our mouth. The staff was friendly and responsive, always catering to our request. The visit to the farms and fishing village was a good exposure for my daughter. I would like to thank the host, Isabelle, warm-heartedly for being kind and caring in every way. It was wonderful meeting her. Over-all, a surreal experience, gaining solace with the ebb and flow of tides and sleeping peacefully with the soft sound of the lashing of the waves, in the background. (I have been to many sea side resorts, but never stayed so close to the sea. No risk involved though, the sea water surrounds the rooms only at high tide). A trip that rejuvenated the mind and soul!!!

Visited Loola over 2 nights - the trip was fulfilling! Did sooo many activities - mangrove kayaking, village cooking, got to see safe water gardens being built as well! Especially love what Loola does for local residents - providing safe waters by working with village chiefs. We stayed in the Sabine villa - you can expect natural breeze in the living rooms, and aircon just above your beds (to save energy!) had good rests the 2 nights! End the day with a nice warm shower, and get ready for another full day of fun :) Also, food’s all quite literally farm to table since farming is huge in Bintan! Great place to chill out and take a break from urban civilisation we’re so used to!

Hi Shanna, Thank you very much for your review. Happy to hear you enjoyed the room, scenery and activities, but especially happy that you enjoyed learning about our work with the local communities, where we, together with our guests, have brought safe water and sanitation to over 700 families. Many of our school guests join us for a day (or two) of super-enjoyable work together with the ever-hospitable village communities to bring permanent life-saving safe water and sanitation (and other house upgrades) to the homes and then build on these facilities to help create sustainable villages with local food, local tour guides, home-stays and other local businesses run by village women. But if you're a family or an individual guest reading this, please know that you could visit a local village family too, and deliver a fantastic clean drinking water solution (Nazava filter) for just $ 100. The family would be very proud if you'd want to get to know them a bit better, perhaps ready to eat at their house, or perhaps you'd like to learn from them how to cook their best family meal? It's an amazing experience – I enjoy it as much now as when we started working on WASH (Water, Sanitation, Hygiene) in 2015. If interested, let our staff know!

I visited Loola with my 2 teenage girls and with my friend and her two daughters (one tween and one teenager). We received a warm welcome when we arrived at the resort (just an hour drive from the ferry terminal), and were assigned a dedicated trip concierge, Elsa, who showed us our rooms, planned our itinerary, and helped address any of our queries. After settling into our chalets, we were led to a private breezy dining pavilion where a home cooked lunch awaited us. After lunch, Elsa had the kayaks and kayak guides ready for our first activity. Kayaking was a blast and the sea was wonderfully warm. The next day, we were upgraded to the air conditioned villa rooms for free. We spent our second day with lots of activities on land and at sea. We ended the day with a fun and informative mangrove tour with lots of fire fly sightings. I rated this trip a 5 because of the warmth of the staff, their eager to please demeanor and their accommodating attitude to the various needs of our group. For example, my daughter’s slipper broke so a staff went out to the village and bought her a new pair of slippers to use 👍🏻. The entire trip was also great value for money. The price we paid included accommodations, 3 wonderful home cooked meals a day, a bbq dinner with bonfire on our last night, most activities (ie flying fox, coconut tree climbing, bungee jumping, rock climbing, kayaking, boom net in the sea etc).

Hi Michelle, We love your review, especially the fact that you recognised call out the genuine warmth and hospitality of our staff. Most of the staff are from the nearby village and have been with us for the last 15-20 years, and it's true they treat you as if you're a guest at their own home. After all these years, whenever my wife, Isabelle Lacoste (the "La" in LooLa) or myself come back to LooLa, we feel we're coming home, and we hope to continue to give the same sensation to our guests!

We visited Loola Adventure Resort recently (Dec 2022) and had a great time. We were picked up at the ferry terminal on time and we're driven safely to the resort. The staff is very friendly, warm and hard working. The activities were all well planned. They were very good at following all the safety protocols and we're mindful of how to work with and encourage kids. My 6 year old daughter was so happy that she didn't want to leave the place. Staff takes feedback well and act upon it quickly. They accommodated our vegetarian friendly diet. In all it was a fun, adventurous trip and will highly recommend it for travelers who want to have fun and do all the wonderful activities they have there.

I went with Loola with my small child (5), partner and adult friend. When we got to Loola, we found out we were the only ones there for the weekend and that we were upgraded to the villas from the chalets. The villas were very cute and nice rooms. We ate meals in three different locations but I think the living room location (up on the hill) was the best. We got to do a lot of activities that were really fun and especially enjoyed by my 5 year old. She went on the 12 meter tall flying fox 6 times. Unfortunately, the sky rope was not open and for some reason we didn't get to do the dragon boat. But we were pretty beat and satisfied with the activities we did do. We had a nice kayak trip out to the small islands, particularly the one that had mangroves. I recommend you spend some time exploring the mangroves by boat or even by foot - we probably should have spent more time there. The staff were very nice though at times things were not communicated super smoothly in English. We would have liked some nature guided walks on land and at low tide but weren't sure how to arrange that. Nevertheless we did our own walk at low tide and had a fun time spotting shrimp and fish. The mosquito situation was a bit annoying in the afternoons and evenings - so I recommend long pants or deet. Also, the boat ride was about twice as long as I thought and we ended up at the end of the customs line so it took an hour to get out to the parking lot. This isn't really the lodge's problem, but just something to be aware of - I guess you might want to sit near the door on the boat and be prepared for a longer journey.

We stayed in the Sabine Villa and it was huge. Extremely spacious and comfy, a great choice for friends or large families. The activities at LooLa were unique and fun, creating a playground out of the natural environment. There were high elements (including some made out of coconut trees) and water activities like kayaking and sailing. Kids are sure to enjoy these. The food and the views from the villa were great.
