We chose to stay in the more expensive building of the hotel. To our bitter disappointment, the room was very, very tired, with worn carpets, a grubby, faded sofa, grubby bathroom fittings, cheap toiletries and chipped, scratched furniture. The room wasn't clean, with a long, black curly hair in the shower and dust all over the DVD box. We had... More

The Scots Hotel is a surprising refreshment of Tiberias, the high-potential-yet-not-accomplished city on the western shore of the Sea of Galilee. Brilliant Dinner and Breakfast followed by a pleasant stay on the pool or the green terrace made our stay as enjoyable as it can be. The staff are very welcome, polite and serviceable. More

Hotels in israel generally aren't up to the standards of most of the rest of the world, even less developed countries, but the the Scots Hotel is the exception, we were told it may be the best in Israel, I'm sure it may well be! More

The Church of Scotland invested 17 million pounds in this hotel allegedly and it shows! Lovely buildings, tastefully decorated, super views, garden and pool. You will pay good money to eat here 250 shekels per person for the buffet so we went out instead but probably good value if you want a "blow-out" with usually some form of free cultural... More

The hotel reminds me of the American Colony Hotel in Jerusalem. Charming details that gives you an idea of what Taberias was like more than 100 years ago when missionaries came to the Holy Land from Europe and establised clinics and hospials not only here, but also in many other locations. The premises, in black old stones, with arches and... More

While the old rooms may be preferable, we thoroughly enjoyed our modern rooms overlooking the Sea of Galilee. The breakfast selection is included and is incredible with just about any type of food that you can think of for breakfast, including a dripping honey comb. Wonderful breads and homemade marmalades, an omelette station and a wonderful balcony protected from the... More

It's very expensive for the room and service it offers. Not a single staff wears a smile on the face. Had room in the new building - its ok but not worth the price. It has a nice garden but you can't really use it much unless that's all you do while staying at Tiberias! Breakfast was nice but that's... More

Hotel is located at one of Israel's magnificant area over looking the Sea of Galilee. On the expensive side, 2 nights with breakfast and dinner (both of which are great) can run as much as $300 per night, per room. This hotel was converted from a hospital and everything was designed to make sure your stay was delightful. More

Our family of five stayed at the Scots Hotel for two nights at the end of March. We couldn't have been happier with the accommodations or service. The hotel is a tranquil and sophisticated spot right in the heart of bustling Tiberias. The hotel is a former hospital and as such the grounds are quiet pretty. My wife and I... More
