Pantoorat Mountain lodge is a good base to start when you arrive at Khao Sok - close to the bus stop and away from the noise of the other resorts and bars, the 4 bungalows are basic, concrete, compact, clean and immersed in it's own jungle garden. Pantoorat Mountain Lodge is run by Mr. Poy (or Toy, something a bit in between). The accommodation is basic, but adorable: a simple cabin with double bed (a bit hard mattress), a bathroom with cold shower and toilet. You don't really miss hot water in Thailand, don't worry. These very affordable bungalows are comfortable, quiet, have a little terrace with a nice view and are clean in spite of being in the middle of the jungle. The ecologically-conscious local owner, Toy, makes you feel at home, cooks for you delicious thai food, takes you around the khao sok national park in his jeep or boat and loves talking... More
