This was our third trip to the hermitage. We've loved it every time. We've stayed in two different rooms and both have been very well appointed. The staff always helped us pick the best rooms available which was a big help. The location is perfect - between Montauk and Amagansett - close to the best dining options on the south... More

I have been staying at the Hermitage with my family since I was a child and continue to stay there with my husband once a year. Perfect beach location and only a short drive into Montauk, Amagansett Square and East Hampton. Great restaurants in Montauk. I highly recommend East by North East and the Harvest for dinner. John's Pancake House... More

This is my 3rd time at hermitage. Beautiful grounds simple but clean. 2 new tennis courts and updated pool area were a great discovery. The only drawback is unit interior - it must be updated fir $700 a night stay. Beach is great with great service. Will come back! Also had to leave 2 nights earlier due to Irene -... More

Whole place is filthy. Bugs all over. Couch was so dirty that we needed to put towels down just to sit on it. I would not recommend. Front desk manager not helpful. Very rude. May be worst hotel room I have ever been in. More

The apart-hotel is in a great location, with a lovely pool & beach. The room was more than adequate although the bathrooms are very antiquated, especially given the rates. There is so little choice in the area that they get away with the prices. More

I agree with most of what people are saying here. Some units are great-some are not. One time I was in a beautiful unit but nothing worked(TV, coffee maker, heat) I was switched to and ugly unit where everything worked- so stayed there. Also for the price your paying they should have much longer hours available in the pool. The... More

Staff is a couple of kids (Spanish guy)-and some (overweight rude girl). We checked in and immediately wanted to leave due to noisy upstairs neighbors with kids. (Total stay -35mins.) They refused to refund us because we washed hands in the bathroom, so they insisted that this is a $54 fee. They were rude, snotty and contentious. We will dispute... More

Each of the two bedroom apartments in this coop hotel are individually furnished. Ours (C-3) had someone's Italian grandmother furniture, but a tv in every room. The two bathrooms and the kitchen were basic 80s motel. It was fine for the shoulder season rate, but would not be in August when prices skyrocket. Several electrical outlets didn't work and a... Different unit this year, second floor on the beach, noisy downstairs group not as much a factor as when people above. Minor issue, sand surf view service best anywhere. thesidetrek More

This is a beautiful, secluded location right on the beach. We splurged, and stayed in an upper-level ocean front unit. The only disappointment we had was that their website photos show modern furniture with sleek decor and beautiful hardwood floors. What they fail to mention is that it is a co-op building, so the decor depends on the unit's owner.... More
