The camp makes a great entrance and then fails to live up. A short boat ride on the Zambezi delivers you to the lodge a few miles upriver from Livingstone. The rooms and common areas are luxurious and well maintained; however, given the proximity to town the team's desire seems to be to keep you isolated. If Livingstone is a... More

This was our 3rd camp over a nine day period. After clearing Zambia customs we were met by Wildlife Safaris representative and place on a Toka Leya van for a 25 minute ride through Livingstone to the resort. This was the only camp with sufficient electrical power for hair dryers so the ladies were happy. The view from our room... More

My husband and I stayed at the Toka Leya camp inside the Mosi-oa-Tunka National Park. Like all the other Wilderness Safaris concessions we stayed at, Toka Leya is first rate not only in the quality of the accommodations but the personnel as well. This was the end of our Wilderness Safaris tour which started in Botswana. Toka Leya is located... More

We had booked our trip to Mozambique in February, so when the venue burned down a fortnight before Christmas we were in a bit of a quandry. When the backup was closed by the Mozambiquean government the Thursday before Chrismas you can imagine how low we were...after all, where were 10 of us going to find at such short notice!... More

I have been fortunate to stay at Toka Leya twice, the first time in May 2011 for two nights before going to Botswana for safari and July 2012 at the end of a safari in Zambia. Toka Leya is one of my favorite Wilderness Safari Camps (Jacana Camp is tied w/Toka Leya). Toka Leya is fantastic and the location next... More

I am a tour guide for more then 9 years and have stayed in many Lodges and Hotels in Namibia, Zimbabwe and Zambia and I must say that this Lodge is one of the best I have ever been. The rooms are beautiful, service and food very good and when the Elephants come to have a mud bath just next... More

I've been there this August after a stay in Kalahari,Okawango Delta and Chobe. This is our last camp of Wilderness Safari and we were so happy of the place. We ended our vacation here for the Victoria Falls and I warmly suggest a stay at Toka Leya for these reasons: 1) The location is beautiful; right in front of the... More

Took the JFK-JNB flight and transferred to Livingstone 2 hours later. The Toka Leya folks were there to pick us up at the airport (waiting outside) in an enclosed van. During the 20 minute ride to the property the driver was great in educating us about the area and peoples. First impression was amazed at how much less car dependent... More

Not sure whether this is a fate of any hotel in Livingstone, but appears most of the guests are one or two nights layover between changing their countries of safari or going back home. As a result, service and activities are taylored accordingly: - half a day or couple of hours templated trips; - if you are travelling with kids... More

We spend 2 nights at Toka Leya and really liked it. After having been in the bush for a week, it was a bit of a shock to come somewhere that was so much more upscale. The tent was beautiful and large with a great view of the "migtht Zambezi" which was right in our backyard. It was also air... More
