You get what you pay for in this hotel. The Japanese room are relatively clean and big but the downside is you have to make your own bed. The common bathroom is big and has a beautiful view of mount Fuji. While there are many other ryokans with better food quality and nicer environment, this lodge is definitely easier for... More

Fujimien was great as the Japanese room was beautiful and it has a relaxed atmosphere. We did not feel restricted by the Japanese traditions like we thought we would be (as this was our first time in Japan). We loved the high quality facial toner and moisturizer that they provided in their baths. The Kaiseki meal was another great introduction... More

The hotel is situated near the end of the ropeway called Togendai - only 3-5 mins by local bus. The hotel is a small Japanese style hotel that could make you feel so. All rooms can see Mt. Fuji from the distance. The room size is decent and room very clean. The receptions and staff are very friendly and very... More

Loved our Japanese styled rooms and the bathhouse with the mountain view. The breakfast was a bit odd but lots of selection. Would stay again. More

Great value-for-money for amenities which include an onsen with a view of Mt Fuji. Rooms were clean and roomy. Should try the Japanese room for an authentic experience. Yukatas or sleeping robes are provided and you also get a big flatscreen TV. Breakfast is simple and good especially for the price you pay. Love the buns which were so soft... More

Great value-booked through hostelworld. Get a Japanese style ryokan room for a traditional experience (+ a Sony 40" flatscreen), all rooms have a view of mount Fuji but try to get one at the furthest point from reception to get the best view. We were given a Japanese robe (forgot the name) to wear in our room and to the... More

I had a great stay at Fujimien. The staff were exceptionally helpful, going the extra mile several times to help me have a comfortable stay. I was worried about the problem of not having a non-smoking room (none of them are designated non-smoking), but they were very understanding about my concern, and there was no detectable smoke odor at all... Agree with previous reviews that fujimien is really value for money. One of the best price in expensive Hakone. Travel as a family of three, the room was spacious and you have to make your own futon bed. Though the room does not have heater, once you snuggle into the bed, you will be kept warm through the night and... More

We stayed at Fujimien on a two day trip to Hakone. We drove so access was easy. Fujimien is certainly not a luxury ryokan - but well equipped for a nice stay. The greeting was warm and the front desk guy spoke English. The rooms were quite nice, and in quite good condition - all rooms have a view of... More

For anyone planning a visit to Hakone, look no further... Cheap, comfortable, cosy rooms with excellent views, good Onsen, friendly staff, convenient location,..... what more could you ask for??!! I stayed there for one night as part of a 2d1n trip to Hakone from Tokyo. Left Tokyo, Shinjuku at about 830 in the morning using the Hakone Freepass. (5000yen) Stay... More
