We found and booked on the net and were not disappointed. The room size was well above average and although we had not booked a room overlooking the lake we could see both the lake and the forest from our balcony. The food in the main restaurant, Trianon, was not cheap but worth every penny (or yen). The decor is... More

On the edge of Lake Ashi, the hotel consists of two Tower Wings connected by a Reception block. The two restaurants (French and Japanese) are on the bottom floor of each wing. Moving around the hotel isn't very straightforward and some walking and lift taking is necessary to get about. Our Room 304 in the east tower didn't have a... More

The Prince Hakone was one of the highlight if our Japanese trip We had booked this hotel, not sure of what we will get and once arrived from outside we were a bit surprise it looks so huge... Check in has been quick and very pleasant, they had a great customer oriented style. Our first room had not the nice... More

Overall, this is a nice location for a 'get away'. Looks like a nice place to host a wedding (which they do market quite heavily for). PROs: Good room size, great views of Mt Fuji, next to the lake, places to eat and shop on-site CONs: a bit far from town, small bathroom Lobby: The lobby is spacious and the... More

This is a very comfortable hotel on the shores of a sizable lake. It is some distance from the small town of Hakone. We were there for an enjoyable 24 hours, a side trip on our way from Tokyo to Kyoto. It is very peaceful. The day we arrived we went on a long walk along a well-worn trail, close... More

Overall I enjoyed my stay . The view is stunning , rooms comfortable and food delicious . I took advantage of the spa treatment on offer and slept like a baby afterward . The building is a bit dated but that didn't bother me. Great location to de- stress . More

Checkin at this hotel is after 3.00pm yet their last shuttle bus leaves the JR station at 4.00pm - no help to us as we had already planned to arrive at 4.25pm and had our departure from our other hotel and our shinkansen tickets already arranged. Cost about A$60.00 on the public bus to get to hotel and took 80... More

Stayed here for a night on 29th December 2011 and booked the stay via their main website. Arrived from Tokyo to Odawara via the shinkasen and took the hotel shuttle to the resort. Mind you, that you need to reserve your seats in the shuttle before boarding (especially during peak season) as there are limited seats in the shuttle. However,... More

We got a huge room in their so called annex, as we were a family of 4. We had 4 large twin size beds each, with plenty of room, a table and chairs, big bathroom and separate toilet. The room was clean and comfortable. small fridge and tea/coffee maker. The hotel's onsen was really great, with indoor and outdoor hot... More
