I came across this hotel's banner at Ipoh train station & since I was really in need to wash up before my next trip to KL, I stayed there for 4 hours. The elevator wasn't functioning so you have to climb the stairs. Luckily I don't have to sleep there because the room was horrible. I felt like staying in... More

When my husband and I stayed at The Majestic Station Hotel 5 years ago, we found it very relaxing and cosy and full of nostalgia. It had a bar on the lower ground which we thought brought some life to the old building. The breakfast was non-existent but the rooms were comfortable and it was very quiet at night. Fast... More

The white station building is impressive and the hotel above the station has great potential if renovated. Our room opened up onto an old large balcony (if you decide to stay here DONT choose the cheaper rooms-very claustrophobic!) The room itself was large, clean but very old with parquet flooring. Beds comfortable, linen clean but old. Old TV supplied with... More

We (family of 4)stayed 2 nights at this hotel. A big mistake. The room is OK, but the entrance is straight from the verandah. There is a small room at the back of the bedroom which was dirty and stuffy. There was a dirty little storeroom (doesn't seem to have been cleaned for years) and a a bathroom with an... More

Was that a backpack hotel? Even worse, compared with the money that we paid. RM90++ with a family room, with no water boiling facility, insufficient lighting, small bad receiving TV, and the worse, the bed with extremely low quality matress and pillows. Everything inside the room looked old and badly maintained. The only good thing that I can think of... More

We will come to the big, black rat later, but that was far from the first problem we encountered at this dreadful hotel. Our stay actually began with a pleasant surprise. The hotel is housed in a truly impressive colonial train station. This brilliant white building, with it broad verandas and white columns, brought to mind great South-East Asian hotels... More

Terrible. The room that i had (standard, RM73) was musky. the carpet was thin, the bedsheets had stains, the towels were thin and not bleached...the toilet...usable, but had a few tiles broken...very very very rustic, but not worth your money. I don't know, however, if the RM88 rooms may be better. breakfast: noodles, bread, baked beans, eggs, coffee, tea and... More

If you're a light sleeper you can probably forget about this hotel. Unless you've got ear plugs on. The trains rumble throughout the night and unfortunately during my stay, my neighbours, were pretty loud too. The staff are friendly. The facade looks good. Though the ancient elevator gave my mum a scare. It looks like it's gonna breakdown anytime. Didn't... More

This is a historical and majestic railway station. It cannot claim to be a "Majestic" hotel. I booked 2 family rooms for my family and parents. On hindside this was a good decision as the bigger rooms are located just beside the open air verandah where you have your breakfirst and can gather for family activity. The verandah overlooks the... The Majestic Station Hotel is part of the Ipoh Railway Station and an historical building, built in 1917. The railway station is gorgeous from the front. The station itself has been recently renovated in anticipation of running frequent trains to/from Kuala Lumpur as part of the KTMB's double-tracking and electrification project (starting mid-2009?). The hotel is an interesting place to... More
