We found China Tiger through Tripadvisor. A simple Google search brought us to discover the Merchant House right next door, also part of China Tiger. Being originally from Penang, I knew instantly that I wanted to have our wedding ceremony at the Merchant House, which is the main property, as it has been so beautifully restored and decorated with vintage... We stayed at China Tiger, a boutique hotel, in Penang for a couple of nights over Christmas. It proved to be the highlight of our holiday in Malaysia. Set in a renovated Chinese trader's house in the heart of Georgetown, its location makes it ideal to explore by foot the mix of the old and new worlds of Penang. China... More

We, a family of six stayed in the top floor apartment at the China Tiger for three nights after Chinese New Year. It is elegantly decorated and every detail thought through to provide a homely and user friendly atmosphere. The location is the centre of the heritage area makes it particularly easy for us to take short rest after walking... More

This place is very good. It is clean, cool en very nicely decorated; you can see that the owners are artists (they have an art gallery at the ground floor). There is a kitchen with everything you need, there are refreshments and things like yogurt and muesli, and biscuits. Everything have ben thought of in great detail. And the space... More

Bohemian chic, comforatble, clean, cheerful, spacious, colorful, re-freshing...it was my sanctuary for a few weeks! You have your little French-like city kitchenette, wide dining and living hall, comfortable beds and all so absolutely charming! I felt totally independant as a visitor business travellor or tourist. Very unlike the normal 5 star hotels and thier offerings. You're seconds away from King... More

My friend and I spent four days in the top apartment of this converted mansion on a colorful street in Georgetown. The apartment was spacious and creatively decorated. There are a variety of areas for sleeping and conversation and the kitchen/dining area is very usable. It was great to be able to bring in fruit from the neighborhood markets and... More

We stayed in China Tiger, situated in the middle of The UNESCO Heritage site of Georgetown. We stayed for 5 nights. China Tiger is situated in the middle of Littl India a dream come true for lovers of Indian food and Hawker stall culinary taste sensations. Having lived in Penang, I had no interest in staying anywhere but in Georgetown.... More

Stayed for 4 nights in one of the studios (Originally planned for 3) - it was everything we hoped for - clean, loads of space, convenient location next to Little India (excellent Indian food steps away, Ananda Bahwan). LCD TV doesn't have satellite TV but good selection of DVDs to keep little ones busy. The owner was also kind enough... More

Biggest townhouse ever stayed in with endless hideaway rooms and nooks. On China Road in the middle of the UNESCO world heritage precinct of George Town. Best town breakfast of fresh fruit, backed products and delicious coffee for AUD$3 each. Wide range of restaurants with the best food for very little cost. Next door art gallery operated by Rebecca, the... More
