Travelling through Asia I normally try to stay in single rooms but I have found the accommodation in Malaysia much more expensive, so I opted for a dorm room at the Masada Backpackers for my stay in KK. and I'm glad I did. Peter and the rest of the staff there are very friendly and incredibly helpful. The communal area... More

Been travelling quite alot and usually put-up in hostels. Masada is one that is different, It provides 2 big pillows, towels and even making beds everyday Fresh brewed coffee all day. Not many hostels provide this service. Location is good and surroundings is quite quiet by evening. The helpful and friendly staff Mila, Zila and Rin, and the cleaning lady... More

Flew in for the weekend to run in the Borneo Marathon. So my needs were very simple. All i needed was a bed to rest my head for a few hours before the run, clean sheets, hot shower and accessibility to food. All these were available to me at the hostel. It's also within walking distance of the Sunday market... More

Clean, comfortable and homely hostel. We stayed in two different double rooms. Both were spacious and nicely furnished, and the beds were extremely comfortable. The rooms were cleaned and the beds were made daily, which we had never experienced in any other hostel! Also the (all day!) breakfast was spectacular compared to a typical hostel breakfast: there´s a coffee machine... More

This is my first stay, and a second for my wife, at this hostel. Peter & Kelly, the owners, and their staff are just great. It's got that real family feel. We needed to find a place to stay in Tawau on our way back to Kuala Lumpur. Sherin, one of the staff, immediately contacted a colleague, who helped setting... More

The staff was friendly and very helpful. Rooms were neat, and beds were comfortable. Bathrooms and common areas were kept clean and orderly most of the time. Food (coffee, bread, cookies, banana) is readily available and free of charge, if you do get hungry in the middle of the night. It's a walkable distance to the local market, various restaurants,... Everything about this hostel was great. LOVED the (free) refillable coffee/milo machine. Breakfast was better than most hostels but still basic. The owners are incredibly nice and will help any of their guests if needed. More

Crashed here for a night. Basic. But clean. I noticed that washrooms were being cleaned frequently so thats a huge plus. Biscuits, hot drinks and water available all day at no charge. Excellent service and friendly people overall. More
