We stayed at the Jesselton for 4 days and were delighted with the hotel. We booked a deluxe room through Agoda, and we were given room 303 which is at the front of the hotel with trees to look out on,although it is is a main street,we were not disturbed by exterior noises from the road outside. The room was non smoking... The hotel is very nicely decorted and harks back to the colonial era. Located in the heart of Kota Kinabalu (a city that serves mostly as a arrival/departure point for places of far greater interest on the island), the hotel has kept an air of old-world sophistication. These is also a decent italian restaurant on the ground floor. The only... More

The best advantage of this hotel is its location: restaurants doors away, Suriah Sabah Mall 5minutes, Jesselton Terminal - 10minutes, Waterfront and Central Market - 10minutes. Gaya Sunday Market is at its doorstep. The bed was really comfortable and the room was ok given the building's age. The bathroom was a little small but served its purpose. Would recommend this... Spend 3 nights in the Jesselton hotel and were happy with the choice. Very good location in the center of KK, very attentive and friendly staff. We booked a tour to Poring hot springs with the hotel and the organization was done well. Without having asked for, the hotel staff called us the night before the tour took place to... More

We recently stayed at The Jesselton Hotel with our family of 5. We required 2 rooms for our family (no interconnect) and didn't require a breakfast as we were leaving at 5.30 for a flight to Sandakan. The Hotel had loads of character, was well priced, the rooms were very comfortable - good bed and shower and we had dinner... More

Stayed 1 night after descending from Mt Kinabalu and coming to Kota Kinabalu. Hotel is quite elegant, with a nice little lobby and bar on the ground floor. Rooms are fairly clean, with visible attempts at updating its decor and fixtures. Bed was slightly hard, but not a big problem. Bathroom was ok, but a friend in another room mentioned... More

We spent 3 nights here and found the hotel to be in need of a little care and attention. We had a suite and it was very comfortable, but there were lots of little things wrong. For example, the mini bar was broken and therefore empty. There was everything in the room to make coffee except a kettle. Dirty laundry... More

Lovely old place - built in 1954 as a luxury colonial hotel when the entire city centre was rebuilt after the British & Japanese pretty much destroyed it during 2nd world war fighting. Has pictures of Lady Mountbatten being served tea there in the late 50s by a young waiter who still works there today, and the friendly housekeepers wear... More
