I stayed a couple of days in Nook's place. The first time when I arrived, it felt like coming home. Everything was really easygoing, and the atmosphere was excellent. Frankie is very hospitable and she showed me around Kuching. I had a great stay!

I was in Kuching in 2012 & had a couple of "A+" experiences w/ Frankie at The Nook. I didn't stay there, but 2 times we hung around the lounge & patio getting to know some fellow travelers, talking about music & life & Malaysia & having an all-around great time. (Franky also showed a real classy gesture when she... More

I stayed at the Nook for about 2 weeks. Originally I had only intended on staying for a few nights...but the city of Kuching and the Nook made me stay longer! The hostel has a really cool, laid back vibe that makes you feel at home right away. The rooms are decently sized and there are enough showers to accommodate... More

Staying at the Nook is no ordinary experience. Your hostess Franky is crazy (in a good way) and she always puts in a lot of effort to organize special trips for you to experience the real Sarawak. She never asks too much money for these trips. It's more likely that she just asks some money for gas.. I should know,... More

Nook is a great place to stay while in Kuching. It is close to the main part of the city, the waterfront, shops and bars. Aside from that it is also very welcoming and has a community feeling making it very easy to meet other travellers, which is great if you are traveling alone. The owner, Frankie, goes well out... I stumbled across Nook by chance and thank god! The location was great, out of the way enough to be quiet and peaceful but also within easy walking distance of all the sights. The accommodation was clean, showers are open air (great in the heat!), there is a communal area with cooking facilities and the owner Franky was very accommodating,... More

We stayed at Franky's for 2 weeks. Her place was comfortable and welcoming. Sheets and rooms were clean and her staff were very friendly. She took the time to make sure we had everything we needed. In her spare time she took us on a tour of the city and out for dinner. She also took us to visit her... More
