Damai Puri resort & spa. A little disappointing after paying the same price for immaculate rooms & professional service at the Pullman in Kuching. Deserving of a 2 star. Rooms at Puri resort are simple and clean but have the typical mouldy smell renowned in Asia - it permeated the linen and was coming from the air conditioner (a little... More

Its a 5 Star hotel experience, great pool and also clean beaches.. walking distance and u can see sunsets.. wonderful stay! Their room service is excellent..good food and reasonably cheap for the big portion they offer. A must to consider if u are planning a trip to Kuching, its near Gunung Santubong

The pool area saves this resort from being a let-down. The infinity pool and surrounding relaxation area is beautiful, and the location of the resort (right on the beach front with surrounding rainforests) is stunning. The restaurants need to be avoided at all costs though! The fact we were the only 2 in the restaurant (which should seat around 200... More

Booked and paid for 7 nights, checked out after 3! Only about 20 rooms occupied, public areas really run down although our room not too bad. Food really poor, there were only 5 people at breakfast, waited almost half an hour for 2 fried eggs on toast, the order arrived completely wrong and the eggs were cold. Evening dining no... More

The Internet pictures showed lovely beaches, superb mountain scenery, and rooms in pristine condition. The reality is no where close to those exotic images. The hotel / resort is an extremely run down property, in complete disarray, and in need of an extreme makeover. I have stayed in many hotels in Asia and this is clearly the worst experience of... This is not a resort, it is a network of old buildings with rooms badly in Need of refurbishment, staff badly in need of training, facilities in need of upgrading (except for the infinity pool) and breakfast in need of variety. Apart from the beach, there is NOTHING that makes this place a holiday resort. Checking in and out process... More

Actually we stayed here in January 2012 for 4 nights in stead of March 2012. When we stayed in the resort I guess it had a 20% occupation of which 90% russians. I wouldn't recommend staying here if you're looking for a luxury stay and some good food. Though the resort advertises with 5 stars it's max 3,5 star in... More

We booked in for our family for our pre Chinese New Year holiday. Receptionist was very helpful and gave us sea facing rooms. We have been to this hotel for almost 20 years annually throughout its various management and name changes. Rooms we had were tastefully renovated and furnished. Rates were higher and had no breakfast coming with it .... More

Our initial room (delux sea view) was pathetic for the price we paud. It was more expensive than Kuching Hilton, but at 10% the quality. Paint was peeling off walls. Mould everywhere. Holes in the door . bathroom not clean. Bed linen fraying and dirty. Deck chairs with termite ridden slats making sitting a hit and miss experience. We complained... More

To put this review in persepctive: We stayed in 10 hotels during our 3 week stay in Borneo. They all met or exceeded our expectations. It is only the Damai Puri that fell well below par. Our list of disappointments are below. Before posting this, we emailed the hotel to give them an opportunity to respond privately. This was not... More
