A one-star resort at four-star prices. If you want to live like a Kuna Indian in a thatched hut in stifling humidity with no air conditioning, only slow moving fans, dim lighting and barely any water, salt water at that, then the Yandup Resort in the San Blas islands is the place for you. What it does offer is a... More

Fantastic location on its own island. Individual cabins so you don't hear your neighbors. No A/C, but the cabin design keeps you cool day and night and there is a ceiling fan and stand fan. Mosquito netting over every bed. Flush toilet, but no hot water (completely unnecessary in this climate). Plenty of food (all seafood) served in a shared... More

Arriving on this idyllic tropical island is itself a treat. The staff is very helpful arranging some additional food items for our five-year-old and arranging an extra tour to the Kuna community. They even taught us how to blow the conch shell "horn". The food is simply prepared and delicious. The visits to the Kuna community are interesting and enjoyable.... More

I and two other ladies stayed for one night. when we arrived in the morning I dropped two memory cards from my camera when I was taking pictures in Yandup around the palm trees. I looked fot them when I realized I needed them but could not find them where I dropped them. During lunch all the tourists are called... More

Dear guest, We understand when negative reviews are based on our mistakes, but this review is based on false ideas. Your accusations to one of our staff members are serious, and it is irresponsible to write something like this in public. All the staff had the best of intentions with every item you lost. Again, we repeat, the boat driver... More

I can only say good things about Yandup Island Lodge. The location is simply incredible, the cabin lodges are big, very comfortable and clean and all staff is very nice (I would like to thank Ate, Blanco and David in particular). They also organise excursions to other small islands as well as to the Kuna Yala community in Playon Chico.... More

We spent three nights at Yandup last week. We were a group of five-three adults with two small children, aged 4 and 6. We had the most wonderful experience! The accommodations were lovely-much more than we expected after reading the reviews here. We were happy to leave the modern conveniences (hot water, a/c, and especially internet)-all of our party slept... More

Spent 2 days in the waterfront cabin with my daughter and it was delightful. This is not an ordinary resort, you are getting an upscale version of the Kuna Indians' life and it's less luxurious than most tourists are used to. The plane flies whenever it does so don't book a close connecting flight. The Kunas were all very friendly... More

Although my friend and I only stayed 24 hours (yes unfortunately flight was delayed so it was very sad when we had to leave), we loved every second of it. If we could have re-scheduled we would have stayed another 2 to 3 nights. We thought it was an amazing place. The staffed looked after us impeccably throughout our 24... More

The lodge is on an islet of its own, 10 minutes from Playon Chico. The setting is beautiful and the rooms are just right - spacious, clean and over the lapping water. The establishment has fantasic potential, but it is not well run. Considering the high price, one could reasonably expect hot water and an internet conenction, but there is... More

I must admit, as compared to other reviewers here, I was there for 5 nights, so I was exposed to the island a bit more than necessary and this might have influenced my opinion. I took this vacation as an affordable and closer surrogate to Tahiti or other remote island destinations. And if it were not for the horrible weather... More

Dear guests, We apologize for any inconvenience caused to you and would like to clarify some points you've shared with us, because some of these are misinformed statements. We don’t pretend to be like Tahiti, it’s not our goal and we are sure we’re far from that type of tourism. We have a different approach, focusing on the cultural richness... More
