I was really quite worried about visiting the jungle in Peru but this hotel was fabulous Other people we met up with who went to another hotel had much longer transfers and no electricity! Rooms were in separate bungalows - noise had to be kept down as rooms were open except for mesh to stop the mosies! Beds turned down... More

This Inkaterra ecolodge is situated in the jungle, on the banks of the Madre de Dios river, about a 45-minute boat ride from Puerto Maldonado. The wooden cabanas are clean and spacious, with hot and cold running water, showers, large beds with mosquito nets, and sitting/hammock areas. A few have outdoor showers and pool areas. Meals are served in a... More

We loved this place. The service and accommodations were wonderful. The lights out policy from 3:30pm to 6:00pm and after 10:00pm is actually just what busy city folks like ourselves truly needed to slow down, get some hammock time and relax. We were there the week of 5/7 and the flowers on the grounds were just starting to come out,... More

I really had no idea what to expect for this portion of the trip, other than this was supposed to be one of the best places to stay while seeing the Amazon jungle. We deliberately went early in teh dry season to avoid the rains. The heat was sweltering. I grew up in Houston so I am not new to... More

I cannot say enough about our experience at Inkaterra. It was amazing food (included), incredible lodging and the best tours (our guide was Anna... very friendly and knowledgable). I celebrated my birthday there, and they even brought a cake to our table during dinner. Everything was handled with the upmost care - they took care of handling our luggage from... More

The Inkaterra team meets you at the airport and handles your luggage for you the entire journey by jungle bus and boat to and from the lodge. The rooms were very nice little individual cabanas on the bank of the Madre de Dios river. We enjoyed our welcome drinks (pisco sours) in the main dining room listening to the sounds... More

We were met at the airport by an Inka Terra team and boarded a charming makeshift jungle bus. We were taken in a timely manner to the Butterfly House which doubles as a reception/check-in location. Here had the first and only glitch of our all too short stay: some travel group (a Condor Travel group) had an issue at the... More

We had a wonderful time here. We really enjoyed the canopy excursion (fortunately we had a very small group) and the botanical garden. Our guide was very pleasant and knowledgeable. The food and dining room service were excellent. We loved our cabana. Very roomy and comfortable. The grounds are very clean and well kept. We had no problem with the... More

We had an incredible two night stay at Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica. First off, although this is a high-end lodge you are still in the jungle: no air conditioning, phones in rooms, internet access, no electricity in late afternoon, etc. All fine with us! We had a river view cabin which was very comfortable; great bed with overhead fan, nice shower,... More

My husband and I spent 2 nights here as an add-on to a Galapagos, Machu Picchu trip. Should have stopped after Machu Picchu. For the amount paid, I would like a chair to sit on a my meals not a log with a niche cut out of it. The pillows on the sofas were all used during the meals as... More
