I stayed at the Great Eastern Hotel (Makati) from 5th - 8th May. I have read many reviews & I think they have been a little harsh about this hotel. Many things said are true, but not to as bad as they are made out to be. Starting with arriving. There was a door person to greet me (I noticed... More

I stayed here around the Chinese New Year in January 2012. In general I think that Philippines and Manila in particular are expensive for what they are and what they offer. This room I stayed in was about 1800 php, and for the things I get, I don't think this is a good price. The reception staff was just ok..nothing... More

In the beginning my daughter was hesitant to hold her reception here because of poor reviews in the internet. I encourage her and promise to talk to management about their services. I did but not fully. When the couple came we had food tasting at THE CAFE DE CHINE . The couple wanted to taste the menus they have ordered... More

We stayed here for a few nights in January! Pros: Good location. Market and a coffee bean are both across the street, and it's close to many restaurants and bars. Free wifi, but only in the lobby. Friendly staff, minus the front desk staff. Cons: Room was literally falling apart. We were expecting them to be a bit run down,... More

Formerly the Aberdeen Hotel. The carpet is old and dirty, the gym is cramped and old. The gym room smells of mould. Staff are so bossy and unfriendly. Only the chambermaids and room boys are friendly. Towels are very old and a dirty white in colour and they expect you to pay 300P if you stain them. How ridiculous! I... More

We booked in for our last night in manilla. Like other reviewers we weren't expecting too much for the price. I had asked for a non-smoking room. Upon arrival they put us in a room that stank of cigarette smoke. In addition to this the room was filthy. It wasn't that it hadn't been cleaned - the place was so... More

I stayed here just yesterday for 3 nights, well i didn't expect much since it is the cheapest around for a good location but i should have anticipated the worse as well. The room is not well kept and their bed has bed bugs that gave us uncomfy sleep at night. their towels are really worn out, carpet is not... More

So apparently, as a traveler on a budget this is the perfect hotel. All i really wanted was a good shower, comfy enough bed and a/c. But hygiene was a factor in negative terms. I found a ciggi butt in my pillow slip, pretty gross. And always had a gross stench. it was probably because it was an old hotel.... More

This hotel is located on the outskirts of Manila's financial and high end shopping district- makati. While only a 5-minute cab ride to Glorietta, Greenbelt and similar high-end shopping centres, the hotel itself seems to fringe on a red light district. The surrounding strip bars and karaoke lounges light up the streets with its gaudy neon signs. Inside, the lobby... More
