This is a small hotel near Red Square. Very conveniently located. Rooms are microscopic but comfortable. Rooms over the downstairs bar may be a little noisy until 3 or 4 in the morning. Poor ventilation but the rooms are interesting. Each has its own art work. Go prepared to have some language difficulties, have your reservation paperwork with you.

Really strange place. Very hard to find. No windows in the room, very dull lighting and wooden floors throughout so all you can hear day and night is foot steps. Night club and bar underneath so very noisy. Very thin duvet. Good water pressure and shower but tiny bathroom with not even a shelf to put your items on. Portable... More

Artel's location is, as has been mentioned, insanely fabulous. Right by the Kremlin - if that sort of thing appeals to you. It is extremely "cool", or at least it's trying very hard to be cool, with a deliberate faux-grunginess that all too often just lapses into actual grunginess. What it is not, is a very good hotel. If you... More

Hidden away in a side street beside the Bolshoi and Kremlin this arty hotel is well placed and very atmospheric. The hotel is above a cocktail bar and a nightclub (which pumps out techo music 24 hours a day!), there is a bar/restaurant open all hours on the first floor and the hotel is above. The whole place has a... More

I stayed at Artel hotel with my girlfriend for 2 nights after reading a positive review of the hotel on the Lonely Planet book. The area & location are AMAZING but other then that there is no real reason to stay there. NO SERVICE AT ALL!!! - the receptionist is usually down stairs at the bar drinking / smoking and... More

This hotel is literally a 5 minute from the Bolshoi Theatre and a 7 minute walk from Red Square. All other hotels nearby are 4 or more times more expensive due to the location. HOWEVER, there are a couple of important points to note: 1. it's on the 2nd floor of a building that contains a club on the ground... More

If you are someone who wants to stay right in the centre of Moscow and just for the purpose to sleep somewhere, then this is the place for you. Expect no comfort here, just good location and easy acccess to the major attractions (Red Sqaure, Kremlin, etc). If you do choose this hotel, I suggest that you book a room... More

The best thing about the Hotel is the location, next to the Savoy Hotel and opposite the Metropol. Walk to red Square and several central Metro Stations. Rooms are clean and varied each designed by different artists. Avoid the weekends if you want to sleep at all. club down stairs very loud. The price for the location is good, breakfast... More

I've said it all. Location. It is in the same block of 5 star hotels, with the price of 1 star. The rooms are clean and with personality but really compact. Get one with a window if you can. Do yourself a favor and google map the entrance. It is in the middle of two buildings past a car entrance,... More
