I staied in this hotel but the experience was not good The hotel is not near downtown you need to walk a lot to go to the Main Street .... the entrance of hotel is not clear it's dirty and dark and the hotel it's a flat divided in a lot of rooms The receptionist aren't able to speak neither a word of English .....absurd.... in the hotel they don't have maps of the city cause according to them maps cost .....absurd for a hotel .... The room was normal and quite clean but not comfortable Regarding the breakfast is good but not International you only have their type of breakfast (the worst of ever) If I will return in saint peterburg I absolutely change hotel cause the entrance of the buildings and welcome it's not good The entrance is the dirtier of ever with gums ...no lights ...lift broken ....

It is very difficult to find the hotel. Location is good. Metro is nearby. No big sign or name of the hotel to see from the distance. Entrance was difficult to find. They are on 5th floor. You can reach it by small old elevator. The hotel is made in old "komunalka" flat. Staff is very good, helpful. Breakfast is normal. Toilet is clean. Free of charge internet is good and fast. Payment is in cash only. There is no night lamp and night table at the bed. No switch for main light at the bed. Room was not spacious with old furniture without a cabinet for cloths. For one night is OK but not for longer stay.

Clean, comfortable, close to metro station, in pleasant neighbourhood. The personal (Svetlana and Lludmila) was very kind and warm. We really feeled welcomed. They arranged us the perfectly organized and cheap airport transfer and allowed us early check in. Brekfast includes fixed part (bread, jam, butter, fruit) and the additional one, which you choose among the several options a day earlier. After two days we started to feel like home. The only problem might be for those who doesn’t speak any russian or some other Slavic language as nobody seems to use english, but that was the same in almost every touristic place we visited in Petersburg (museums for example). Despite that, city is well worth to visit, incredibly beautiful. In fact, at the moments you feel like you were jumped into the fairy tale.

I loved the fact that the place offered a cheap and convenient stay option in the city. Rooms are well worth the price you pay and comes with everything that is required for a comfortable stay. Breakfast is good but not great but yes it serves the purpose. The major trouble is the language since English speaking staff is very limited and my Russian could not save my life at any given day so yeah it was a struggle with broken words and actions but otherwise the place served me and my friends well during our stay at the place.

The hotel is at the fifth floor of a building, in a courtyard. This makes it very quiet during the night as you do not have heavy traffic. My room was a single room, not very big but comfortable enough. And spotless clean, like everything in the hotel. I did not feel it to be too small. There was no air conditioning in my room which in summer time makes you feel a little warm if you are used to sleep in a cold room (some people like this, I prefer it warm). Breakfast is...essential, although they always prepared pancakes. If you miss fresh fruits, there are places not far away where you can purchase some and you are allowed to use the kitchen and the fridge. People are extremely friendly, not all of them speak engish but there is always a way to understand each other. Wifi works perfect. Underground is 5 minutes by foot and you are two metro stations frm the hermitage. In 10 minutes you are in the city centre. What I most appreciate was the breakfast and living room. It's spacious, comfortable, you can prepare yourself a cup of tea whenever you want and rest...I really felt like at home.

I have stayed here for four years and have been very pleased. The location is good in that it is very close to two separate metro lines. There is a very good grocery store at the end of the block. Also, a great German Restaurant is right across the street, as well as a McDonald's at the end of the block. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The wifi works well. The staff is always nice and I happen to enjoy the adventure of breakfast there every morning. It's nice to have someone cook and assist with preparing your food. It's also nice to have access to the kitchen to do your own thing if you wish. If you are in St. Pete for any length of time, this is a great place to stay and well worth the money.

Our small group of five (2 couples, 1 single) stayed four nights in Early April 2013. Russia can be very cold in winter (it snowed) but the hotel was comfortably heated around the clock. The rooms have airconditioners in them for the summer but can't comment on those. It's a small hotel with just a few rooms around a large central lounge and is well decorated and furnished throughout. (For couples note that the double rooms have two single beds, you'll have to push them together if that's what you want). As other reviews have noted the staff speak little English but we didn't find that a problem and they are very friendly, helpful and accomodating. You can book online and pay by card at the hotel without speaking any Russian and for the day-to-day interactions we could make ourselves understood perfectly well. As noted you'll get typical Russian fayre for breakfast which might not be what you're used to, but if you have no spirit of adventure why go? It's all part of the fun. The hotel itself is on the 5th floor of a typical central St Petersburg apartment building to which you'll get a door key, and outside just round the corner is a small supermarket where you can get fruit, porridge, milk, bread, cakes etc although for some reason the Russians don't seem very keen on cereal. We bought porridge, showed it to the staff and they happily made us that. There's a microwave in the hotel lounge plus a coffeemaker, toaster and a hot/cold water machine you can use as well (don't drink the tap water in Russia). There's also free wireless internet and a computer you can use (it's in Russian though). There's a bank that does currency exchange and has a 24-hour ATM just a short distance away and the nearest Metro station is about five minutes walk in the same direction. You can also walk to a central area with plenty of shops etc in about ten minutes. In conclusion there are a number of worse places you can stay for a similar price (from experience) and if you have the right mindset/approach for a stay in Russia then you won't be disappointed with this one.

We arrived at the hotel at the beginning of July 2011 with great first impression. The hotel is only four years old, so everything is still reasonably new. Everything was clean including sheets, room and bathroom. The beds were extremely comfortable and all rooms come with air conditioning. Our first morning at the hotel gave us the chance to experience russian cuisine at it's finest. The only problem was, it wasn't. The breakfast contained a mix of boiled sausage, rice and yogurt. An interesting mix to say the least. Including a selection plate of cut ham and cheese. The breakfast at the hotel wasn't great. Coffee and fruit juice is available. Throughout the week the breakfast didnt get better. If you love maccroni cheese or more rice with a bizarre oil on, your going to love it! If you prefer to cook your own breakfast, the kitchen is available in the hotel. A mini-mart (located 1 min from the hotel) is extremely cheap with some choice. The only other downside is the majority of staff don't speak english... at all. The owner (who is extremely friendly) speaks great english, but apart from him that was it. Towls are changed every three day's with sheets changed weekly. As we were on a budget, (working at the nearby university) the hotel was a great choice! If you want comfort, links to nearby metro and city centre only a 15 minute walk away this is the hotel for you! The breakfast and lack of english speaking people is a slight let down as the language barrier in St Petersburg is a difficult one to conquer.
