Can't get much cooler than sleeping in a caboose, especially when you're on a road trip with three young boys! We found this motel on http://roadtrippers.com and immediately knew that we had to make it one of our stops along the way to Canada. You can stay in the motel or one of five refinished caboose (cabeese?). Of course we... More

We really weren't sure what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised with the comfort and cleanliness. Obviously if you have no interest in trains or goofy hotels, then don't stay here, but if you are a rail-fan or just have a good sense of humor, then this is the place for you. Perfect family place if you have some... More

What a great experience, probably not the most luxurious of hotel rooms but surely has to be the most fun. What a hoot, literally as there was a sound system in the caboose that played steam train sounds whoo whoo, crazy but cute. There was a lot more space than I had imagined and the small but efficient bathroom was... More

This review is for the caboose lodging only, not the motel rooms. We stayed here solely for the the unique experience of sleeping in a caboose. It was the perfect place to kick off our tour of silly attractions en route to Niagara Falls from northern Virginia. Upon arriving I was relieved to see that the grounds and exteriors of... More

We stayed at this motel 10 years ago and enjoyed it. Needed a place in the area again and so reserved without asking any questions. Well, turns out it's been sold a few times and things have gone downhill. The pool was filled in. The rooms had no ice buckets. If you want ice you go to the main office... More

I was travelling with my wife and kids (11 & 14) and thought it would be a neat experience to sleep here, which it was. It's good for a novelty, I probably wouldn't want to sleep more than 1-2 nights here. Yes, space is tight but that's to be expected for a caboose. I actually thought it was spacious enough... More

We were looking for a place to stay on our way home from visiting Buffalo and stumbled upon the Caboose Motel on the Internet. After checking out their website, I thought this would be a neat place to stay for a quick night for my young children. And yes, they loved the experience of sleeping in a actual caboose --... More

My friend booked us a caboose on a whim because we were going to be in the area and needed a place to stay. This is a regular motel in the middle of nowhere, but they have something no other motel has to offer... the ability to sleep in a real caboose. In fact, they have 5 of them that... More

This is one of those wonderful pieces of roadside Americana that you stumble across in the middle of nowhere - an otherwise forlorn low-rise motel on a two-lane highway paralleling the newer interstate, with 5 shiny red cabooses in the yard. The cabooses are still definitely cabooses, with metal pipes, rails, wheels, shelves, and portholes, but have been outfitted with... More
