The hotel is in a good location and it looks like they renovated the lobby area, but the rooms are still outdated and need renovation. Excellent location, connected to underground walkway. Room was fine but outdated, friendly staff. Very close to the snow festival and centrally located to most transportation and site seeing locations within the city.

For the change in price during the snow festival, up triple the normal cost as I'm sure all the hotels took advantage of, this hotel was nice. From a western perspective...The room was fine but very outdated. The food was awful. I had stayed in more modern hospitals with much better food, then what we just experienced in the Sheraton Grand. Service was typical to Japanese standards, which was great. Overall, I would not recommend it for the price.
