Like some other reviewers we just stayed one night here due to our small budget but would highly recommend the experience of a traditional Japanese Inn. The rooms were beautiful and the staff were friendly and attentive. We had our own bathroom but also tried the public bath (for the full experience). You are given tea and Japanese cake in... More

The service was outstanding. People were extraordinarily friendly, and the rooms were very comfortable. The Kaiseki dinner is great and I recommend it. The location is semi isolated, but only a 5 min taxi to the main road of shops and restaurants. They have the public bath if you are in to that which I am not, so can't rate... More

Because of my little budget I just stayed one night at Seikoro Inn. I love the warm service and every was so kind and helpful! The room is in traditional japanese style with private bathroom and from our room we can saw a lovely small garden! Even thought the hotel is very close to the busy main streets but since... More

Had an excellent stay here whilst in Kyoto and would recommend this place to anyone not traveling on a budget. I also very much enjoyed the Kaiseki meal here and would also heartily endorse that (although having a Kaiseki breakfast, lunch and dinner as I did on the first day is probably too much). It is also a great base... More

The room furnishings with garden view was nice. We ordered kaiseki for dinner and the breakfast. Dinner was worth it; breakfast was not. I have heard that the price range for this hotel is about average. Although the location is convenient to many attractions, the ryokan is located right next to Kawabata-dori, a 6-lane major road. This was a bit... More

The Seikoro is a very comfortable, easy introduction for Westerners wishing to experience a traditional Japanese inn. I think that Westerners not accustomed to Japanese customs/etiquette may find other ryokans in Kyoto and elsewhere in Japan to be overly formal and a bit daunting. This is not the case at the Seikoro. Never was the staff upset or insulted when... More

We stayed at the Seikoro Inn during our recent trip to Japan. We wanted to spend a little bit more for a few days and experience some luxury (we'd been going budget for the most part), we also wanted something traditional and authentic, since we we're in Kyoto so we chose Seikoro Inn. I have to say that staying there... More

My wife and I stayed at Seikoro in mid-November 2007 as part of our honeymoon swing through Asia. We'd started in Hong Kong, traveled through Japan, and ended in Thailand. Besides Seikoro, we also stayed at Yachiyo in Kyoto, and Shojoshin-in in Koyasan. Among the other two ryokan, as well as the several 4 star Western style hotels we stayed... More

I've been there with my husband this summer and I think that is too expensive for the room standard ( about 30.000 yen per night ) . People is very kind but please do not order the dinner because they didn't tell before the cost ( 15.000 yen !! ) . My suggestion : don't waste your money since Japan... More

With me, Seikoro Inn. is one of the most memorial place during my stay in Kyoto. Two days stayed in Seikoro Inn was just a short time but it made me happy. I still remember the friendly staffs with excellent services. In the early morning, I walked around Seikoro Inn, enjoyed the fresh air, met local people and took many... More
