We arrived around 7p.m. on a Saturday evening. The restaurant had a small selection of authentic Japanese dishes. Everything we tried was delicious! The rooms are basic, but very clean and comfortable. The staff is very welcoming and made our stay even more enjoyable. If you are looking for an authentic, affordable Japanese inn then this is a great place... More

I must say that this accomodation is located in a good place. It is close to Ninnaji, Ryoanji (stone garden) that is the part of Myoshinji Temple Complex, Kinkakuji (Golden Pavilion) and Kozanji. All mentioned above temples and Kinkakuji are in the UNESCO Heritage list (!). Well, it will take 15 min by walk to Ninnaji and more - to... More

Even the location is far from town around 30min by bus (I know that before booking) though I really impressed stay here.. So quited and clean. Very good service and friendly owner. You could never find a superior Ryokan at this price (4,200 JPY/night). Food in their saperated restaurant is very good taste (with high price). It suitable for 1st... More

It's really nice ryokan to stayed even though it's quite far but i think it worth the trip. I went with my mum, just the 2 of us. The staffs were really nice and I loveee the food in their restaurant! I'm definitely going backkkk. This ryokan is located near all of the temples, also if you want to go... More

It is a bit out of the way from the city but close to Arashiyama area and the temples of Ryoanji, Tenryuji and Kinkakuji and the Sagano Bamboo forest. I liked the Ambiance. The restaurant was a bit expensive and the service was ok but the owner was very polite. If you want to tour the Arashiyama area it is... More

This Ryokan is so far out of the way that I'm so glad we were only here 2 nights. The rooms are spacious and clean and quiet but we came to Kyoto for a good look around and all that is close here are some temples and the bamboo forest. The garden is pleasant, the restaurant is terrible - expensive... More

Whenever I go back to Kyoto, and I will go back, this is where I'll stay. It's a very cheap place to stay in, but that's by far not its best quality. If you're the type that likes to go clubbing every night the location of this ryokan might not be very practical. However, if, like me, you're fond of... More

I've been to Kyoto during the peak period and Yamazaki is the only place I can book on Saturday night, after reading the latest reviews, I'm freaking out. However, I have to stay there anyway. Then I found that this ryokan is very nice. The futon were clean and very comfortable. There was some hard powder on the futon but... More
