... but for me it was less then ok - with all the surroundings, it's just very artificial. And the food - fermented tuna guts, it's sexy on the other hand, so i guess it could have lots of devoted followers, but me - no more!!! This is a beautiful traditional styled ryokan, set on a quiet street in the middle of Kyoto. It can be difficult to find as the signage on the front is in Japanese only. The reception staff speak a little English, but the majority do not. A lot of hand jestures and sign language help though. The rooms are small but... More

We stayed here for 4 nights. Without meals, the price is about 12,000 yen a night, while with breakfast and dinner, the price is then 24,000 yen a night. Room came with private bath and toilet.
